This Is somewhat tongue-in-cheek. But then again I’m angry. Yes- I’m quite irritated that the execs committed all the egregious crimes and walked off in to the sunset with the cash, not one of them in jail. Who is left in the dust to pay the price for their greed? The employees, the shareholders and the customers. Many of us are all of these 3: We are employees, we are shareholders and we are customers of the bank/brokerage as customers. How many different ways can one company stick it to you? So I’m throwing a thought in to the mix.
WFC is extremely cautious about claims of retaliation against whistle blowers since they were busted hard for it back during the cross-selling scandal. I have heard stories of WFC avoiding cutting certain employees (though they deserved it) during previous layoff rounds because those employees had filed a complaint about a manager, or WFC.
Not saying you should make a story up, but if you have a real concern or if you see something truly wrong maybe now is the time to stand up for yourself, a fellow employee, or for the customer. [Employees working OT, and managers telling them not to clock it. A bully manager. Unfair processes/fees that illegally disadvantage the client] Could they make life rough for you? Yes- they will figure out a passive aggressive way to do that. But will it protect your job? I think it could. The rules of the game have changed in my opinion. They are playing hardball. Don’t follow my advice if you don’t like it. This may not be the right way to go, but I sure wish some of us could figure out a way to level the playing field. Or gain the upper hand. Or at least go out in a ball of flames.
