Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Did the math.

If you step down from 40 to 32... Dependent on area base pay blah blah. You will lose 9-12k a year on top of what you already lost.... Who is gonna do that?

Pretty much if you work at Verizon for the benefits. $8k tuition, good health benefits etc. I know ppl that are considering it for that.

IMO there won't be an enhanced severance and it won't be voluntary. It'll be two weeks per year up to 35 weeks. It's a good jump start if you are looking to move on.

Again ! Verizon offer severance to all front line employees, the same one as 2 years ago 3 weeks for every year worked and 1 year of benefits for the transition. Reps with 15 plus years would jump at this!
