Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Not sure why employees are so angry with each other.

I have been noticing an uptick in some aggressive comments out here. Might be a sign of the times. Might be employees are frustrated with the firm and are expressing their anger in the only way they safely can- anonymously. I think we have some participants who are getting their jollies by stirring people up.

Years of dysfunctional management and greed in the upper ranks is where it all started. And personally, I think the new management team is just different names playing a similar game with an approach that will be even more destructive to employees, customers and shareholders. What I do know is that the predominant problem is not the guy sitting next to you. Everyone is just trying to survive working for a broken firm. A more productive approach would be for employees to band together.

Just me, but I ignore any comments out here that are s-xist, racist, ageist, disrespectful. I don’t waste my time on comments that use inflammatory words like entitled, head-in-the-sand, ignorant, do-nothing, uneducated, c—roaches etc. I think some of the posters are frustrated employees who might have a genuine point to make, but they lose all credibility if they can’t communicate without being so incendiary. Or I assume they are non-employees who enjoy stirring the pot.

Don't let a few trolls get to you.

And don't visit this site unless you're looking for specific information about a pending layoff.

During a RIF this is a great place, RIF meaning Reduction In Force, but the rest of the time it seems to be a lot of gossip and whiners.

Gossip and listening to whining during a pandemic, with unrest in the streets, and tens of millions of unemployed, can't be good for our mental health.

Update your resume every now and then, check in here every month, or less, less being better, take a peak out at the job market, try to save some money, and go outside and look up at the sky now and then.

But avoid most of these posts if you can.

I firmly believe the worst is yet to come, but I aslo believe that we'll get through it.

Californians have been dealing with job security issues for years, unfortunately everyone else is now under the same cloud. Buckle up and hope for the best.

It’s starting to surface in my business line as well. Wells has done a horrible job accommodating during the pandemic. Everything is expected to be business as usual when employees don’t have the resources they had in the office and there’s the fear of layoffs over everyone’s head.
It seems as though everything started getting sour when shrewsberry or whoever made his announcement. Ever since then it’s been nothing but walking on egg shells

I don’t think WF employees are angry with each other either. I certainly don’t see that IRL. There are one or two trolls on here who come to puff out their chests and sneer, but it’s the internet. There’s always that.

I don't think WF employees are angry with each other. I do think a lot are frustrated with the current situation and it is hard to understand positivity. Could it be the new person hasn't figured it out yet, or is a management favorite, targeted for advancement over the rest of us. Who knows. What I do know is that the BS stupid financial FRAUD perpetrated by previous CEO and his assistants dealt a serious wound to WF and those of us still there are now paying the price with reduced pay, hours, bonus, etc. I'm embarassed to admit where I work. And so are my coworkers. Wow....just like SEARS in the 80's....and you know where that one went.

Every meeting I attend usually has people expressing frustration that it is so hard to get anything done. But it’s never one reason, it all comes down to the bank being unable to get out of its way.

The reorganization and new hires are adding complexity to existing problems. Six months plus to get people re-orged and a lot of things have ground to a halt as a result, which is probably why it seems like so many people are doing nothing.

The fear among mid level leaders, say 4 below CEO is very obvious and they are driving their people insane with fire drills, tangents and pressure to deliver something before they even define what needs to be done, it’s fairly toxic.

OP here. If you think I’m an ER representative- I’m not. They represent and protect the firm, not the employees. At least parts of ER have been relegated to an outside company that is an even bigger mess than Wells, if that’s possible.

I do think this board is anonymous. I don’t speak well of the firm, so I certainly hope that it is. But I have read that the lay-off.com has rules around s-xism and racism and they will and have removed such posts.

I’m merely an employee of the firm who thinks my fellow team mates are stronger if we are united than if we are divided. And the posts that are logical, accurate, and civil will benefit us all more than those that are not.

This board is not owned by WF.If it was,why are there other companies listed?

I don’t think this board is truly anonymous. Wells Fargo owns, controls, and monitors it. There have been some recent posts that were, without a doubt, made by an employee relations representative.
So we can’t really say what we are thinking without fear of repercussions from HR.
