Not giving out names of course but coming from a level 4 I have spoken to directly; there is definitely a substantial cut coming to D3 core techs. St and Ft titles. I’m just passing that tidbit along.

If your workcenter is rural or doesn’t serve at least 60k people in its nearby population expect it to be sold within the next 2 years.
This isn't news. AT&T would rather sell off property except central offices and lease it back.
@mcg. Amen! I find it ironic when the government complains about lack of HSIA across the country when it was our government that got us in the mess in the first place.
Remember when there was a monopoly called Ma Bell and the American people’s communication needs were first over institutional stock holders, boards and the elite. It was well regulated, worked very well and the customer ruled for a reasonable cost. Fast forward to today, plenty of competition, great technology but without regulations large swaths of the country have become the tale of two stories of inequality and customers are an afterthought.
Love capitalism but without some regulation those in charge are offshoring, H1b visas, ruining great companies and millions of people’s lives and services. I’m not for a lot of regulation but there has to be some to keep the rich, powerful and their sycophants in check and do what’s right for everyone. It’s called the sin of GREED! The love of money is the root of all evil.
So who’s buying rural telephony facilities in this environment. Those that did in better times haven’t fared so well. Don’t see it happening, there is still a thing called regulations and a true viable 5G is a long ways off according to all the experts. Anyone living in rural and smaller cities needs to call their legislators, FCC, public service commission, mayors, etc..
Some customers in big cities can barely get 1.5 meg or less due to lack of infrastructure. The government needs to step up can correct all of these inequalities, it’s going to take more money and regulations to fix this because companies have proven that they won’t.
Work centers to be sold, unfortunately sounds legit, we have several fir sale in N.C. If one sold their isn’t any plans to rebuild, I understood we will lease it back to ourselves.
