Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It just seems as if board is complacent and incompetent

And has no problem steering into giant icebergs. Replace Randall with Stankey who was primary player behind TMobile Disaster, DTV Disaster, Time Warner not off to good start, and k–ling off what people loved with HBO. Pfefler has to be laughing his backside off. Just imagine if all this blown money and debt was directed towards Wireless, Fiber, and 5G. Well we get a front row on that with Verizon while TMobile has guns blazing at the ATT Postpaid and Business Customers. Maybe they will replace Stankey in 5 years with PBJ or JBV.

Companies should not be allowed to describe their directors as "independent" solely because they are not on the payroll. It's an exclusive club that allows former CEOs and other influentials to wash each others' backs as they transition into retirement while maintaining their sense of self-importance. As someone once said, it's the corporate equivalent of letting kids find their own babysitters.

In theory, the corporate boards at Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, AIG, and General Motors were paid handsome sums to oversee the activity of the executives and protect shareholders' interest. In practice, they slept as the CEOs ran the companies into the ground. In Money for Nothing: How the Failure of Corporate Boards Is Ruining American Business and Costing Us Trillions,
