They always like to Scrooge/Grinch the yearly Christmas surplus. No feeling like it during the season of JOY! I can see them counting their upcoming raise, stock options, dividends and patting themselves on the back about working exclusively for the elite investment class. Totally tone deaf, employees and customers are just numbers on a spreadsheet. Probably see more videos of their new kitchens and toys and how great everything is going in their bubble.
They can do them anytime for managers. They tend to do them to coincide with off payroll dates at quarter ends. They also always do one in Nov. in all likelihood if you don’t get cut now your next chance is Nov.

Yo, you don’t join a team. Another example of a short sighted ATT employee. The team concept is as simple as a group of people doing a job, performing a task to achieve a common goal. In one sense the entire company is a team. In your example it is hard to grasp that you have been here 38 years and were never part of a group that Worked toward a common goal. If not, we are all waiting to here more details about your 38 year career.

I doubt OP is correct, but to the poster below, there are more than union folks on this board. Like the OP, apparently neither know that what applies to one group does not apply to the other.
So often the conversations on this board are presented as if the person offering the advice is completely unaware of other parts of this company. With 250k employees in many different countries it nonsense to make such blanket statements. As an employee it is embarrassing to think our employees are so short sighted.
