In my opinion, AT&T is a joke. There has been a lack of communication and integrity, since I joined them. I had lost my film/TV and Audio Visual gigs as a freelancer because of the pandemic. I came to AT&T as a way to keep money coming in especially because UI benefits are very uncertain.
We were promised five weeks of training, and then we only got four days of training. In addition, AT&T cancelled the 20% hazard pay on us even though the pandemic is still active, and we have to wear masks. I still have not gotten my wireless discount and have spent so much time calling the call center and chatting with managers to get it applied. As of now it shows on my account but no discount and has made my wireless go up as it took my veteran discount off.
Finally, a new class started shortly after our class, and they are getting five weeks of training, better pay, and even swag. To date, me and my colleagues really have not had good training and are not as familiar with all of their systems and products. There is a lot of uncertainty and lack of communication.
It seems likely we are temporary just hired to support WFH employees until they are either brought back from home or get software encryption to continue WFH. What would be nice is if they set the expectations of what the future holds for us. I am fine with this endeavor being temporary—in fact, I planned on it…Just would be nice to know when that date would be approximately and how the layoffs would work… Would we get severance pay maybe??
