Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Saul and jules

Nice to see our “leaders” finding time to do press runs in the middle of a pandemic while their respective organizations are slowly rotting on their watch. I wonder if they took time to mention their relocation strategy or their policy forcing you to leave if you have a relative.

MRs were given notice today. So much for pause in layoffs.

This company stinks. You can't trust them regarding anything!

Location strategy will come back when things settle down. At a minimum, hiring will focus on specific locations, forcing us to stay in one role or move. At least there’s not quite the rush to move jobs.

If I was getting paid $10MM a year, I would do whatever the f**k the CEO or board wanted, no matter how ugly or how many people I had to fire, or how happy I had to look every day sipping my Starbucks.

He is laughing all the way to the bank.

And it’s crazy that he’s 50% under every one of his peers.

@wge+154lTMhu this has nothing to do with boomers or old people. It has to do with geed and keeping the status quo. Any generation given a chance or this much money/options will fall into the same trap.

They want to keep their power positions, they want the fat paychecks, they can only feel powerful by keeping people under their thumbs and that means where they can watch you in an office. If you don't like it, they hope you'll quit, it will make their layoff plan much easier to pull off.

We were told in a compliance all hands call this morning that they are moving forward with the hub strategy and it is highly unlikely there will be full time telecommuting after the pandemic. We told it was for financial reasons and for better collaboration. What a bunch of bs. Even when we work in the office in flex space, we are spread all over the place, different floors, different buildings and we can’t find a conference room to book, so what do we do? we hold a conference call! We can do that from home and all save a lot of time and money. This company is being run by a bunch of baby boomers stuck in their old ways with a short term approach and timeline! They are just trying to fleece the golden egg, so they can walk away with a golden parachute and guarantee themselves a high off the hog retirement. None of them have a clue how to innovate and become the cutting edge digital bank that the younger generation wants to do business with. This is a mba textbook case of death by a thousand cuts!

The location strategy is dead, they've made that clear. People who were offered to relocate have a few weeks to change their minds if they'd like.

I think they've sent emails on this, but they've been clear in the Ask Me Anything meetings that relcation is not happening, and telecommuting is the new normal.
