Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

You have to fight the company and get into a survival mode to defeat surplus

This is what the grizzled AT&T veterans have advised me. "Fighting the company" refers to when you are assigned to a job, do everything possible to fail training so that local management at receiving location is incentivized to retreat you to your surplus job. Can come in handy of location is non-commutable. The "Survival Mode" refers to understanding the danger of the situation at hand, that you only have 48 hours to accept the job offer and that if you don't accept it, no matter how ridiculous it is, you will be out of a job. Definitely, not an ideal situation, but it is what it is so you have to keep on trucking.

You know who AT&T should surplus first? The genius that wrote this post. This is just r—ded and a massive waste of space. Thanks for coming to work today. If this is the best you can come up with, then I assure everyone that neither AT&T nor any other company needs you for anything.

Gee, great suggestion: intentionally be incompetent in order to save your job. Sigh.

Working for AT&T these days is like riding the Titanic. Never sure when it will hit the iceberg. Very stressful!

You only have 24 hours, not 48, to accept a new position during a surplus.
