Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Will there be cuts this week?

AT&T has a perfect opportunity to adjust the employee number and cut costs under the guise of coronavirus pandemic. Whatever the earnings report says, I'm thinking right after they'll use that opportunity.

If not this week, then before the end of the month, I'm positive.

I don’t know... see a few other companies starting to not pay workers and/or furlough. Wouldn’t put it past T to try and get one more surplus in under the guise of the pandemic. They could figure “hey, well you get severance, unemployment plus a $600 per week kicker, and the second stimulus may be $2k per month for at least 6 months, so be happy we picked now!”

Just listen in on the earnings call 4.22. (this Wed) and see what the game plan, Listening to the Conf. call gives you much clearer insight where the company is going, since Analyst aren't shy about asking real questions.

Depends on how much works needs to be done. These employers, they always want work to be done.

No, they will first have to see how the owners (stock holders) react to the news. I don't mean you and I, I mean the institutional ones. Also this is not going to be the qtr that shows how badly the company is hit by the downturn the Pandemic has caused.
