Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Where is HBO MAX When you need it?

It would be nice if they could boost revenue with Early release of HBO MAX. Considering the exhausted amount of money put in it, as well as the licenses they kept instead of renew with other companies. So what's the hold up?

It was announced that Fandango is buying Vudo from owner Walmart as the streaming wars heat up. Guess who will be left in the dust? H–M-X

seems like the OP thinks just because you build it they will come.....everything ATT touches is a failure. look at directv, uverse, directv now. HBO Max is hundreds of millions in the hole so far with nothing to show for it. they will launch during the biggest depression in 100 years. more layoffs will fix the debt.

Anyone that wants HBO content already subscribed via cable or the hbo app. Hbomax will be one of hundreds of streaming apps competing for the same customers

How bout T get back to its roots and give customers what they want. Fiber to the home where T will either have a monopoly or compete against a copper cable provider.

HBO MAX is a victim of poor timing into an very overcrowded OTA market.. Plus now its not like broke-a– unemployed millennials are eager to spend $15/mo . when they have real worries ..
T strategy originally wanting to a media company have been a good one, but poor, uncoordinated implementation means its not going to do much for the bottom line especially with all the debt..

Yes 10,000 subscriptions at $15 a month will rescue the company.

Is your couch leather ? If so, spend it on hbo max. You can nibble on the couch for probably at least 6 months.

this will be 1/100 successful as disney plus. no one outside of T is aware of the imminent launch of this low demand service.

people are sharing netflix passwords and don't need yet another overpriced streaming service. SMH.

HBO MAX will take 3 years to break even. att gave up guaranteed revenue by not licensing content like friends to other providers like netflix.

to OP, how much revenue do you think this flop will bring in? It will be buggy at launch just like directv now was , just like att tv is, and just like every other product att launches.

right now because of the pandemic people don't have the extra $15 or so to spend on tv. especially now that every streaming service is giving away extra content at no cost. amazon firestick has tons of freebies, sling tv is giving away a week of free streaming.

this hbo max will not save att. it will be another drag on the company just like directv was.

4Q if they are lucky. Another disappointing leadership decision.

This is really sad. I feel this is a blown chance by AT&T. Comcast is launching early. Even if we did an HBO MAX ( lite). Get some good will from our customers. But atlas, AT&T will launch just as they said at the stupidly high price point they have stated. Might have a few thousand paying subs by 4th Q.
