There is no chance the Location Strategy can proceed. The entire world has finally been forced to realize we are in the 21st Century and don't need to drive in to an office to work. The Reputational Risk to proceed with a ludicrous co-location plan post pandemic is a PR nightmare of biblical proportions. If anything, remote work will be increased post pandemic. It's over. We can all relax.

Location Strategy has and always will be a farce, a pretense, a fake excuse, sneaky way to boost voluntary quit rate so "Leadership" can claim victory and hire cheaper talent. "Location Strategy" is a useful fiction for leadership to cling to, even if the face of pandemic reality. It's sad and hilarious, equal parts tragedy and comedy as Leadership will not allow even a pandemic and cold hard facts to change their calculations.
Morally bankrupt, unethical, sleazy, sneaky and underhanded? Lacking compassion, empathy and common sense? Yes, of course. The fact that Location Strategy has not been clarified, cancelled or re-evaluated after almost two months into the pandemic is strong evidence that Leadership is not relenting; they more likely will double-down.
The new remote work, if possible, strategy is working out very well so far. Business as usual. Corona virus is NOT OVER, and will be around for a very long time to take a company down with it, like the meat processing plants. Suggest status quo for quite a while, anyone who can work remotely should be impelled to do so. Corona virus in the office will take the company down, like the meat processing plants. They're still learning about the virus, fun stuff like you don't always get a fever, young people are getting blood clots and having strokes from even mild cases, it may not slow down in the warmer months, it's probably going to come back meaner than ever in the fall, and then again meaner than this round next spring.
Saul and the team must be getting this info, that they have not announced a year or two pause in the strategy makes me think it was a scam to speed attrition.

I think state and federal governments are dictators of this. The issue is if nothing ever opens the economy will end and really no recovery option

There was a good post that the Location Strategy no doubt came from CEO and the Board; Saul is the "good soldier" who has to carry out the directive. Saul probably has little discretion or leeway to alter a strategy that is doomed, obsolete and no longer relevant. But this being Wells Fargo, nobody seems agile, decisive or smart enough to re-calibrate and quickly respond to the new reality where a pandemic poses and will remain a considerable obstacle.
Go to the Media and make noise! Employees need to ban together against location strategies set up to destroy careers and investigate kick back payments from Corporate Real Estate to Senior Execs.
