Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I honestly don't know why you stay.

Left 4 months ago.

Best decision ever!!

I honestly feel bad for anyone that works for that garbage company.

I would hope anyone who is rule of 75 gets out ASAP.

They are stealing from you at this point. Time, life, energy, etc.

3 others in my group left this week.

The medicare plan B subsidy will probably be cancelled within 3 years anyway. Even if you are receiving it now, you won't receive if after it is cancelled. It is not a benefit that gets 'grandfathered' in once you start collecting it.

Some of us stay because this is all we have ever known, and nothing else. It’s this or bust. We hang in here, because the real jobs out there are 10 times harder. I just keep taking the money, and when the time comes so be it.

"They are stealing from you at this point" And if I don't retire before the end of the year they will "steal" my medicare part B. That is how loyal employees are being rewarded. It was also something that I had planned and accounted for in my retirement finances.

If 3 other left recently this must be front line or in-store employees. IT is in heaven right now working from home

Stay to get paid. Stay to complain about how bad things are. Then more pay.

3 others left the group this week?

In times like we are in now, I am interested to know where they went, unless they had already decided to return it is hard to believe anyone would walk out of a job now.

Apologize for going off topic but the minimum value segment rates for March popped significantly higher for some reason. I think I read somewhere they are tied to various corporate bond rates but probably a little more complex then that

I honestly don't know why you'd be lurking around here months after leaving and being so incredibly happy in your new job.

Hit MR 75 last year. In short, I stay for the pay.

The "benefits" are sub par all around for a management/ non bargained employee, let alone as a retiree when they get even more expensive. Thankfully, I have been on my spouse's medical (superior and cheaper) for last few years.

I don't mind the job. I like my teammates (I don't have direct reports in this role). We seem to have plenty of work.

I am not so naïve as to not be aware the axe might fall at anytime. I'll be fine with it when it does.

I feel like I have earned a severance at this point, so one way or another I intend to get that. If there is another MVO this year, I would have to consider it longer and harder than I have in the past. But if the economy and job market is still like it is right now, that wouldn't be a hard decision to make, I'd stay put.

rule of 75 wasn't going to do much for me except get discounts on services that would of probably never used. really though the pension wasn't going to increase that much for me if I stayed. so I left best decision ever. it really is a garbage company

so true leaving on my own was the best decision. best description "a garbage company".

whole company needs one big makeover from the very top to the very bottom. they steal from employees who took the buyout of the pension by not updating their data. they steal from their customers with endless fake fees that get the government approval because they have them in their pockets.

who cares about rule 75 you can make money with the market if you know what you are doing or get someone that knows what they are doing and have much more money than a pension. you will be in control of the money and not have to worry about how some corrupt, immoral, and just a garbage company is doing so they can provide your pension.

I guess if your union it is worth it but I had skills that were eroding playing politics almost on daily basis because people were afraid of surplus. I was management although I didn't manage anybody and never wanted to manage anybody.

My skills have taken a sharp uptake since I left the cesspool and I don't have to worry about coming into work and wondering what political c-ap is going to happen today.

Now if Att only admits their wrong doing about the last pension buyout and give the employees their money they earned my attitude towards the company might change. Otherwise it is and always will be a "garbage company" and will never give them any of my money and will tell people to never work there and to never buy any of their overpriced captive services.

I am rule of 75 eligible, but young, so why would I leave unless they give some big mass severance?

IBEW gets a raise in June ... we get 20% extra right now ... pension is going to go up a ton more again after 1/1/2021 if current extra 1.5 fed interest rate drop stays, which come on, how are they going to raise it? If anything they will cut even deeper in the summer if unemployment and stock market is still hosed.

Work keeps getting easier, they keep shutting down more stuff!

Why leave, just because they expect us to work or be at work? Believe it or not, not every job s—s at AT&T.
