Hiring freeze? Please. Some in ICS are trying to get as many as 10 - 20 NEW FTE req's approved because "they are so busy." Bunch of b.s.

I don't know about any other teams, but in my group in IT, there's a no backfill policy in place.

I believe we did pick up a few offshore folks this year, though.

Until the culture changes we will never get better. Managers can not fire anyone, we have coworkers literally sleeping at their desk, cheating on certification tests, calling in once a week, vaping - not nicotine- on their breaks, and management can do NOTHING. if 25% of the SLACK ASSES were let go we would be just fine. Not to mention managers who do NOTHING, I know of several, sadly. CHARLIE ARE YOU LISTENING? It will never get better if no one can be fired, NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Just get rid of them, perfect time for a layoff, if the RIGHT ones are let go.

I agree every department I worked in were lacking operational and compliance risk management. What’s even scarier is when you bring up potential risks to management and they look at you like your crazy with that dazed look. It is simple Banking principals 101-Dual Controls and Auditing. To hear long term Well Fargo team members with no risk experience talk. They act like they are creating one of a kind and out of this world systems. It is ridiculous. Their 25 year plus banking career is with Wells Fargo. The bank needs an overhaul. Top to bottom.

Funny you should say that. We have been asked for ideas on how we can slow down the regulatory work. What can we put off or spread out, because they don’t want to hire more people to do the work.

Well that is interesting, because Scharf is running around and telling the regulators and analysts that he is spending all this money on compliance, but now we are told compliance backfills are on hold. My group is down 13% in staff and the work keeps getting piled on. There is no way the compliance consent orders will get lifted in 2 years. There is so much to do ( I mean backhoes are needed not shovels) and the resources aren’t there. People are getting fed up and leaving. Charlie will do down like the previous ceo, because of the regulatory problems. I worked at 2 of the big banks and helped them get out from under the consent orders, so I know what it takes. Also, I don’t think Charlie is being told the truth by senior management regarding how broken things are and what and how long it is going to take to fix it. Compliance is going to start missing regulatory deadlines left and right...

Funny you say, since Saul is saying today the opposite, that we will continue to fill open positions
