I would put money on it being June 12.

Surpluses are typically announced the first month of a quarter with folks off payroll by end of quarter. That being said July would be more likely.

Another 100,000 overseas workers will be coming into the country shortly even though 22 million people are out of work. Explain that one.

Boss hinted strongly that the planned February hit on the IP Techs that was postponed by Covid-19 will instead be replaced by a hit on the legacy DTV guys instead come June. I feel so special. Only 8 more guys and I am toast too.

They are just continuing with the plan set forth long ago. They still have a few thousand to get rid of by the end of the year.

"Mostly managers cause theys lowly thieving dishonest lazy varmints." mostly because they are worried about the surplus and makes it an extremely challenging environment to get thing accomplished. managers are not always the people managing people. most of them are people trying to do a hard days work and hitting brick walls on a daily basis. but if you are in cso you have it made and are pretty safe.

"They are very careful not to cut now"

Watch the video, you are dead wrong. They will be starting soon.

They are very careful not to cut now.

Most of Fortune 500 companies that are not in travel/restaurant/leisure business have not laid off people.

The question is what happens once we reach the point when F500 companies start cutting, are we going to get another 10 or 20 million jobs lost.

So far so good for AT&T...

But... Winter is coming.

Why so negative? Can't we start by saying thanks for good job Randy?

I thought today’s video was not that bad / direct with respect to job loss. We heard a lot worse in the infamous 1/19 email that Jeff sent, a town hall or two, and the comment that Stankey made not long ago saying that no one was safe. Maybe he went easy because of the times we are in, which is not consistent with his arrogant personality. Don’t get me wrong, cuts are coming but they were a little soft about that today.

It's plausible for an announcement to come out in June. That gives them the month of May to figure out who stays and who goes. Off the books by August (Q3).

If we could stop with all of the Ratty and Stinky nonsense. Watch the video that went out earlier. Anyone with a brain can deduce things are going to get really bad.

This came from a managers clerk for a 2nd level. She’s very reliable. No details as yet.

Which organization?

As I understand it, Ratty got the $5.5B from the banks and not from the Fed bailout. So there is no requirement to hold off layoffs as mandated by the CARE act. Not that the law would stop Ratty - he would just rebadge you and let IBM, Accenture or Tech Machindra actually lay you off.

So Ratty borrows $5.5 to pay the dividend, he has to whack more employees to get the debt ratio down to his goal of 2.5. The whackings MUST continue and accelerate!

Ratty needs to go!
