Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is it possible?

Today is the first day in a long while that I have googled AT&T and only received positive coverage on the first page. Mind you, it's all the same subject just covered by different media, but still! I'm so used to seeing negative coverage that this felt like entering the Twilight Zone for a while.

Maybe the assets management paid trolls can chime in with their knowledge since they are always selling their souls and protecting the brand on this site.

Unfortunately the good news is about giving more stuff away for free and about Elmo being on tv tonight. All good, but....

Most companies did not have contingency plans in place for a pandemic. Couple AT&T's with poor investment over 10 years, and debt, their sights were on growing margins and little no to plan for workforce or services protection. Add in the TMOBILE and Sprint Merger and AT&T is looking at last place.

Retail is going to be very different not just AT&T but the whole world. Reductions were coming regardless of a pandemic, I think this forces the plan to come to light MUCH MUCH sooner than the intention. And, they'll be able to get a bailout. Watch part of that be that CNN is spun off.

Back when I started, it was the days of the Bell System, and it was infamous for keeping service going no matter what. Lots of good folks silently broke their butts to keep services going no matter the hardship.

Then came the breakup and the Dark Days of T. The bad news just kept coming.

Roll forward to 2015 when the current reign of terror began. The news has stayed negative for the most part except for a few brief periods where Ratty, Stinky and JD were able to fool Wall Street with some Fake News and so they got some brief good press.

The Virus is dominating the news and this gives Ratty and Stink a brief respite. When T runs out of cash and they cannot pay the dividends and cannot borrow any more and cannot whack enough people to cover the cost of their debt, the bad news will start up again.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but I wonder if they have some way of pushing down bad news about them in the search engine. Especially when the Elliot thing happened and especially when bad things about warnermedia (layoffs) are in the news, you can see them in the news tab for a few days and then somehow they aren’t as visible a few days later. As in not even there at all.
