Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Expendable -now- Essential

So in the local hospital here that is full of positive Covid19 patients from the ages of their late 20’s thru 60’s and above. All ages are at risk opposite of what T says. My garage is not distancing. Techs and managers just treating this like any other time. No sanitizer, no wipes, nothing. No home dispatch, no distancing, no triage just bau with the manager sending out a crew email about HPC all the while some folks who have spouses or loved ones in the healthcare field are making last will and testaments. Problem here is T.

@1zx

They won’t quarantine the team, we had a tech in Atlanta get infected all the company did was supposedly “deep clean” the office for 2 hours with wipes. There are so many places that techs could of had encounters him and be contagious then, spread it to the community. After the cleaning BAU.

No job is so important and no service so urgent that we can’t take the time to boost revenue at frontline employee’s, families and communities expense.

  • - 2 Techs in N.C. tested positive! 1 in Charlotte & 1 in Raleigh! -

We need more information on how the company responds to this situation. They should be quarantining the entire "team of techs" which these two infected techs belong to?

People aware of these two techs becoming positive.......please update the rest of us HERE, so we will know how the company is going to react to this new situation.

The days of being so cavalier about the seriousness of this virus are just about over. There is no way in Hell, these are isolated cases, we will probably now have our own CV breakout inside the circle of field techs. Have you heard the moniker Case....Case......Case.......Cluster......Cluster.....Boom!!! ?

You couldn't really expect anything different with our techs out there going into all these public places, now could you? Let's be honest here, WTF did you expect to happen? Nothing???.....$hit....

It's time to get real about this virus and pull back all customer-facing field techs except in cases of true emergencies.

Again, please update the rest of us regarding the two infected techs reported above. The rest of us want to know more about this situation and what the company's reaction to it is.

Well, I sit here at 5AM this morning reading about what is happening around the world, while most
businesses here are closed. Traffic these days is the lightest I guess I have ever seen in my lifetime and I am going to do an Install/Upgrade at a TBTF Bank of all places today.

I am getting increasingly concerned about the spread of this virus and the realization/possibility that it is eventually going to get us all is beginning to creep into my psyche.

I still hear other people question whether this is being overblown or not. Dead people are being stacked up in refrigerated trucks on the street in NYC that were alive and well just a few short weeks ago. Wake the F#ck up dude!

If I don't get surplussed, furloughed or something soon, I may just start exhausting everything I've got until I run out. The problem is that it is fairly early into 2020 and your vacation is now based upon accrual; so, you aren't going to have very many days that you can take. I guess as a last resort, I can just ask for a LOA. It's unpaid; but, at least I won't be out here flaunting this virus to catch me if it can approach that is going on now.

BAU can't last too much longer. One way or the other, Reality will eventually overtake pretending it's nothing to be concerned about and then the apologies will come; but, it will be too late for the unlucky people who get it.

I think within another week or two, we will hear of entire teams of techs being quarantined because one of them tested positive. I can't imagine how this can be avoided up in the NE under the circumstance unless ALL techs are pulled back immediately and told not to go onsite except in the case of a real extreme emergency; but, even that is not a guarantee you won't still get it. It's just the first most obvious thing to do at this time. Once that happens, you are in the same boat with everybody else (who have nothing to do with this company) and are doing whatever they can to avoid getting infected.

Good Luck out there and sorry about the lengthy post. Just trying to figure out what I am going to do. I don't think the company is going to do anything for customer-facing techs until after you get it and for me that is not acceptable.

Mgt is only scared of lawsuits, thus the over 65 exemption. Which 2 weeks ago was the over 60 exemption. Class act all the way around fellas !

No problem for Ratty or Stinky. They have a whole staff to wipe down the limo's and corporate jets for them!
