Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Child time off pay if you’re married

Get ready to have your spouse prove they were working as well. Paystub & schedule. Otherwise cobc has gotcha.

What s—s is if you were already working from home you aren’t eligible for this. Trust me, read what it says on the form within HR OneStop. Says if you already work from home speak to your supervisor. Umm did that and my manager said “try to work it out while you care for your kids.” Okay how can I do that if I have to fead them, be a teacher and make sure they don’t break something or hurt themselves in the house! Oh and then also do my job which requires me to be on the phone talking to people all day!

Now that all companies want their employees not welcome to offices, both spouses are wfh, is this time off still allowed? Juggling kids out of school and engaged, while already in overworked teams is surer way to k–l yourself, if not Covid-19! But will this be another excuse for layoffs later?

The COMPANY, AT&T, is not just providing this time to the employee's paid, excused to be nice! They are getting their money back from the Family First Act that was signed by the President! If that hadn't happened, AT&T wouldn't be doing anything for us! As far as the paid, excused time.. if you have children and you need it then take it! It is none of anyone's business to judge you. These kids are out of school and the PARENTS are responsible now to make sure they do their work. It is now the PARENTS responsibility to make sure their children pass and go on to the next grade. These children are also going through depression/anxiety over all of this. They need to be supervised period!!!

25 years of conditioning to never call in sick or show up late under any circumstance is a hard thing to break. I’m sorry, but I still don’t trust the company to try and take any of this extra paid time off.

Husband and I both work for the company. We get to keep our hours to less than 50 most weeks. I have kids in elementary school. I would like to do part time, wondering if we can apply for part time with paid leave for couple of weeks.

My boss thinks that i am not eligible for it.

Dont worry, if your spouse is working from home its doesnt count. Your taking care of your kids while your spouse is working, no matter where is it. Home or not. Take your 2 weeks if you need it. The company has offered it as a benefit to you. Dont fear accepting a offer given to you. Family First.

The company can’t just go demanding personal information on your spouse.😩 How dumb can you be? Some children are going to need help with school work and if you have several children it may take two adults to get that done. Responsible adults are NOT going to let their children fall behind their peers. But your can smoke on your pipe dream all you want.

Of course you should be expected to provide evidence for free paid time off?

Union employees are known for taking advantage of policies, so it should absolutely be vetted.

There is no COBC!! Some people don’t have to prove they are married when they’re out having a good time at the company expense!!

Couldn’t you just shut down your social media, and say you’re separated at the current time?

It’s not that hard guys. They don’t know your life unless you tell them.

Im ok with this one. Many people are using it as vacation time while the rest of us are still working knowing damn well they’re lying. Get what you deserve if you are lying. If you aren’t well everything will be just fine.
