Is everybody considered essential or are there areas that are seeing cuts?

They canceled the $4B buyback and they probably are looking for a bailout. To get that they probably cannot lay anyone off for now. It’s a game and they want some free corporate welfare so they can go back to artificially boosting their stock price and large Bumps in executive bonuses. In the $2T package I think the companies that get money cannot lay off till September then they will get the loans forgiven and hence free money after they pay off this fall.
Iam very appreciative of how ATT is taking care of those that are older than 60 ....... I mean 65 with health issues . Thank you . And thank you President Trump for putting the fear of God into our top brass who know no limit to their their debauchery !
The company will adjust its personnel needs when necessary. It's business. It's reality. Meanwhile, well compensated for the work being done.
ATT has put there hand out for 5 billion loan. Thanks to democrats, they cannot lay people off or buy back stock at this time. Wait for it...cuz that is the only reason they aren't doing it right now.

THere are no COVID -19 layoffs at ATT. However, not everyone is essential. Even folks that were lined up for layoffs did get a notification of extension.
Remember if you have been declared non-essential, there’s really no reason to have you on the payroll.
