Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I'm glad I'm still working

I don't care how risky it is, I'm overjoyed I'm still working. Do you have ANY idea how hard it will be to find a new job with millions of people being shown the door by their companies? Not to mention, many of those same companies will take their sweet time before they decide to start hiring again if they can get away with it. Losing my job right now would be devastating. Whatever it takes to keep it is worth it.

it would be devastating if the union makes us strike on the west coast.

Then I guess you better vote YES to ratify your tentative agreement.

Be glad you’re working because 50+ outside of AT&T, you’re out of luck!

This is what I’ve been talking about. The fallout from all this will be awful! How many companies are going to choose not to call back older workers or ones they have wanted to get rid of. It’s going to be nasty out there.

techs are real lucky to have a paycheck coming in during all this. it would be devastating if the union makes us strike on the west coast. nothing good will come out of a new contract either way. lets just keep it moving and take advantage of our temporary raise.

Amen, I'm very thankful to have a good job with AT&T during this global pandemic. I know we typically discuss how the company is only worried about the bottom line on this site, but Ive been very impressed by the company's response to this crisis' work from home, 80 hours of paid time off if infected and now bonus pay for our front line workers.

Delusional. Only Randy and Stank can deem whether you are essential or not.

Exactly. I’m happy to be a front line “essential” employee. Many small businesses will be wiped out , never to return. Their employees will struggle to find work. The worst is yet to come.
