Well, be careful techs! 4 of our IHX reps caught the virus but they don't want us to tell the techs or customers for obvious reasons. And yes they're still working or else they will get fired!!...How do i know this ? because i caught it with them we all went to go get tested for similar symptoms at the same location. Im currently home through FMLA but thought i give you a heads up since one of them got very ill just today and fainted. At&t doesnt care about you! We are all a sacrifice...only the rich will survive.

Gotta be west coast. The IHX leadership out there would do anything for a PPV including fraud, gaming, and forcing employees out into the field when they should have been home in quarantine.
I worked for Cingular then AT&T for 13 1/2 years to the day. It was good with Cingular but when AT&T took over, it went downhill. With the point system, they made no exceptions. People would be carried out on a stretcher and taken by Ambulance to the hospital and they would get a point. My Grandma fell and hurt herself bad and had to be taken by ambulance- they Area Manager looked at me and said "You're Grandma falling is not an emergency." Granted the day was closed but we had at least 10 min between calls and I had less than 2 hours left. I left and had to take a point. My husband had to go to the hospital from work as he was suddenly pale, nauseous, couldn't walk and dizzy. My supervisor told me she couldn't let me go and I didn't need to be at the hospital until after I got off work (I had 6 more hours). Well, I went and took the point. When we had a tornado go thru our city on a Sunday night in 2006 with a lot of damage, I called in the next day and the workforce rep said "It's unexcused, no pay." There were power lines down all over on the side of town AT&T was on and that side was barely accessible. She then said "I got here so you can, too, and we have a generator so the building has power." Yeah, no. I had a tree behind car and the entire roof behind my fiance's car. It took the company literally 5 days to decide to let us use our vacation time to cover our tornado absences and make it excused - FOR A TORNADO! I am so glad they closed our call center. I had only stayed there because I had been there so long. The closure was a scary thing to go thru but it was the biggest blessing in disguise. I found a job at Blue Cross Blue Shield and it is night and day. They care about their employees and make exceptions when needed, for emergencies and weather, for example. They make you feel like they need you and appreciate you. Being in an environment like that makes the world of difference.
Stop the fear mongering.
It is not fake news. Newer call center employees that are not yet eligible for fmla returned from paid leave the company provided and now they are sick with it. Masks mandatory effective today.
We had a rep in retail with all the symptoms and who tested negative for the flu. Had a horrible sounding cough. Definitely pneumonia. Tried to get tested for COVID and couldn’t but told us he probably had it. Came to work and he was coughing every minute at least. No masks at the time. I told my manager I didn’t feel comfortable working with them. After he tried to lie to me and say he tested negative for COVID (we literally all just heard him say he tried to get tested) he threatened me with a point if I left work. Points were suspended. I pushed it up the chain and got sent home with pay but the sick employee stayed at work.
@1den we're not talking about whether the company has a sick policy. We're talking about the company suppressing vital information related to the Coronavirus. If IHXs and techs have tested positive for the virus, the company should be informing employees and customers that have interacted with them recently.
This company's as bad and secretive as China in suppressing critical information.
Company-paid COVID time covers extended/other COVID related absence. If an employee is actually infected with COVID-19, it wouldn’t matter if this temporary “COVID” pay is halted or not. The employee would have a qualified medical condition no different from any other medical condition where doctor gives you a note not to return to work until ____.
I don’t understand why people continue to write these post intended to scare the uninformed unnecessarily.
This isn’t about whether your company cares about you. If you are sick, there’s a SICK policy for that, which has nothing to do with COVID.
This doesn't surprise me at all. You can be just as sure that numerous technicians have the virus too, but the company is keeping it secret.
In fact, a technician in our city is very ill and has tested positive for the virus. We know only due to word of mouth. The company has said absolutely nothing.
They car about two things only - money and PR. The welfare of their employees is not even an afterthought.
What area? Could help other techs to watch out for their own safety!!😷
There is a lot of truth here. Its very obvious that our upper management does not care about us more then the money. If upper management cared about the employees more then money , they would not have untrained techs going into homes to work on installing up-grades , to existing internet subscribers .
As expected.
Alternative fact.
um, ATT Does not care! I know for a fact! There is a location where a few have been tested at a call center and still coming to work before test results back! They are no longer giving paid time for Covid whatsoever after May 1st!
OP must be a disgruntled (ex)employee. If somebody has the virus they would get paid sick leave. No reason anyone would bother coming to work if they can stay home and still get paid.
If true, call your local television news station
I’m calling this fake news.... if they truly caught covid and are still working they are putting people in danger and should be rightfully fired.
Sure jan
That's why you don't test. When you test, you have a case.
