Company may be managed like garbage but paying lots of workers and paying shareholders. Can't beat that. Just an incredible job.
- health insurance costs keep going up with every new labor contract. Nice to know the company can afford dividends.
@bbe+14YrRGu7 Then why hire new people. The company is managed like garbage.
I bet if all the workers would agree to a moderate pay cut we could afford to pay Randall the Rat Thief his $3,300,000.00 annual retirement entitlement plus his $4,000,000.00 a year in dividends plus his retirement benefits package and have money left over to give a healthy dividend increase to the shareholders! Whaddya' say team?
If those workers were doing work and contributing to the company's revenue, layoffs would not be needed. Simple business really.
hey..HEY! Why do they need a news release?
is like the thieves that comes back to the crime scene, isn't? Rolf
And just think ... if they would trim the dividend by 50% the next round of layoffs may not even be needed.
But hey, why save workers when the ultra rich need their dividends!
It's MAGA way.
"Elliott" isn't some dude.
Elliott Management Corporation is an American investment management firm. It is also one of the largest activist funds in the world. It is the management affiliate of American hedge funds Elliott Associates L.P. and Elliott International Limited. The Elliott Corporation was founded by Paul Singer, who is CEO of the management company, based in New York City. As of the first quarter of 2015, Elliott's portfolio is worth over $8 billion. By 2009 "more than one-third of Elliott’s portfolio was concentrated in distressed securities, typically in the debt of bankrupt or near-bankrupt companies."
Elliott has widely been described as a vulture fund.
Paying investors and paying workers. Wow, great job AT&T, great job Randy, great job Stankey.
Comfortably - yeah, that is descriptive for Ratty who gets $1M every quarter in dividends! He did such a great job - of enriching himself buy borrowing $5.5B to insure his own dividend.
How many thousands of employees will have to be wacked to pay for the $5.5B debt?
Seriously, what else can Johnny say? The only reason anyone owns T is for the dividend. If you were expecting any sustained growth in the price of T under Randy's former leadership or Johnny's current leadership given the condition that the company was and is in, then you "got another thing coming". If Johnny spoke the truth, the sell orders would come in and the stock would drop several points and then Johnny's very short career as the head man would be over. I'll bet Elliott is kicking himself for investing in T to begin with and trying to make the elephant dance based on his losses to date. Of course, this assumes he hasn't already dumped his shares.
just more money for the so called best and brightest leaders. go look at the stimulus bills - the country is attacking the middle class and there will be no more middle class eventually.
the american dream is dead and welcome your new overlords . we will be brazil in 3 or 4 years.
