Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo practices discrimination every day! Forget Diversity and Inclusivness!!

What a joke - applied for positions in the same group - each time it was "sorry but no thanks" yet the persons hired had credentials and experience far inferior to mine. Whats up with HR, they always say "declined" or "withdrawn" depending on what button they push, not what actually happened. Yet, top management keeps singing cum ba yah and saying how "inclusive" they are and how much they value "diversity". Those of us on the front lines see a much different story. We see buddies hired, JPM staff hired from outside, and inferior but silver-tongued speakers with nothing but the gift of gab hired right past us. I'm disabled and being discriminated against......period. Maybe time to find outside counsel? Who else has seen this c-ap happen over and over? And yes, I believe HR is not there to help me and others like me, but rather to protect management at all costs. Whats a person to do?

Can you share the link with this information about the OCC having an MRA against Wells Fargo that 60% of new hires need to be from outside the company?
I’m internal and not getting anywhere with landing a new position, but I assumed it’s because I opened a case with employee relations (huge mistake). I have noticed though that most new hires are external and many are black. Must be an MRA to hire more of those too.

A few points and counter points:

  1. They are not discriminatory. You are confusing stupidity and technical immaturity as discrimination. They are a weak bank and known in the industry as having the worst leadership.
  2. You being passed over likely has to do with your location. If you are not in a hub location and applying, you might as well quit. You will not get hired.
  3. People on this thread touting positive experiences are likely in a hub locations and have small market job security.
  4. The racist A-Hole (@qef+14YqSFxd ) on this thread tells you a lot about the emotional maturity of many of the employees in Hub locations. This poster is probably in Des Moines or Charlotte.
  5. The OCC has an MRA against Wells Fargo forcing them to hire 60% of new hires from outside the company (a mandate). If you are outside a hub location and obviously internal, you have little to no chance at a new position. You should just quit.
  6. Yes, consult an attorney first. Even with all these facts, Wells Fargo caves very easy. They will posture a little at first, but you will likely get a great settlement after a couple of months of lawyers sparing. Take the six figure settlement (I am not kidding) and take the time to find a new job. get your documentation in order first. A huge part of their operating expense are legal settlements (Billions) according to their earnings report. Get your share before it is gone.

I've seen it first hand. They already have to person they want to hire, they just put on the charade to appease HR. They stack the interviewees with people who "qualify" for the job but just will always come up a bit short during the interview process. Its a joke and the reason why Wells is in the position they are, they don't hire the best, just their best friend.

I will agree with your last statement to a degree. The regulators wanted new board and new management to be installed at Wells Fargo. When you have a new CEO and a new CIO, they do have a tendency of bringing "own" people to the key positions. This happens in EVERY firm. Having said this, I have seen some folks grow and get promoted from within, as well. So, it is certainly a mix.

You are confusing discrimination with a strategy to bring in people from the outside because there is a perception that those who have been at WF for a while are part of the problem.

What a bunch of disgruntled people on this board. This is totally not true. I have been with the company for 15+ years and have never seen or experienced the discrimination with the hiring process that is being discussed here. I guess if you are angry at the world, nothing will ever please you.

Totally agree!! WF is a joke! I’ve never heard of a company that has total disregard for hard work and dedication until now. You have to kiss the right a$$ to get ahead so if a$$ kissing isn’t for you get out. They always think they’re the only game in town. Get a lawyer and march on with that lawsuit!!!!
