Not a hero at all and you are completely correct thats not in my job title i can only hope to make it to that point one day bit my hopes are diminishing by the day and let me correct myself not every i&r tech is lazy bit to be fair not every wire tech is a pos either but we can’t just disappear back to the garage at 415 we work till all the bs tickets are out of the pool not fair by any means but thats the union just wish that the I&r guys would realize not all the guys in other titles are to be sh@t on some of have ethics and care
Hey Hero, it’s not that I&R is lazy. They have to do FTI installs plus repair cable and a lot of other work you that’s not in your scope of work. If you’re around long enough you might get one of their positions when they retire and find out. Most of the time y’all are returning to us to find a bsw encap drop trouble or fix the pairs and remove bridge tap.
How many 600, 900, or 1800+ pair cables have you found, repaired lately due to damages in a deep pit or worked in a Manhole where you can barely move to open a case?. I’ve done several lately and worked more than 36 hrs straight. That’s not including all the other work, like specials, complex translations business troubles, Pots, DSL, wet cables, BPC’s, MR’s, etc...
Is this true about IHX getting ladders on their trucks and tools?
Cut the lazy a– i&r techs that cant do installs and cant hit hpc....they complain about doing 3 jobs a day i average 75 completions a month with 16% jep rate in an area that has the most degraded infrastructure in the state
IHX is not installing anything but they will he delivering and setting up AT&T TV later this year. Techs will still install and do service orders for internet.
Yeah it says on csp that it is for move orders only except a few markets. New sales of U-Verse are not allowed in any market. Plus why would we want to sell it even if we could when we don’t get paid for it?
They lifted the ban on move orders. New acquisition sales of U-Verse TV are still prohibited. Stores can’t sell it and sales teams are not compensated for U-Verse sales at all.
Your correct Uverse WAS not being sold other than move orders, but check your company emails and you will see that Uverse tv IS BACK in majority of markets
UVerse TV is not relaunching - - that was only move orders being allowed to continue for customers that already had Uverse TV. Whereas before if someone moved they had to goto ATT TV. So the customer is keeping their equipment.
lol everyone on here taking like they know what’s going to happen, anyone read the company email that came yesterday or the day before that Uverse tv was relaunching except for a handful of cities?
IHX starting pole climbing class in June!! They can do it all for the cheap!!!
Yep we were tipped off a couple of guys per garage are getting let go because AT&T TV doesn’t need installs and the IHX guys will be delivering those
People are managed on an business as needed basis. If there is business for people there will be people, once that business goes away, those people go away. Just good common business sense.
Cut those useless CO wannabe managers. TFS is a target rich full of do-nothings
IHX will get ladder racks on their car and tools this month. Three completions required per day, call ahead and use sanitizer. You were trained online.
There is no way on earth the prem techs or any other TECH is going to be let go , as they ARE the company. So everyone just relax and enjoy the ride !!!
Not sure if the next round will be all DTV Prem Techs - or the lower seniority IP Techs that were supposed to get the chop back in March.
They did recently move 6 of our high seniority DTV guys over to the IP schedule for "cross-training" which makes us think the low man on totem pole IP Prems are getting the axe next month.
Your mileage may vary as each area has it's own headcount reduction targets to achieve - how it is done depends on your Director and his AVP.
With my seniority between both DTV and IP, I figure I am gone by mid-year 2021 and am stashing cash and paying off debt as should you all be doing.
- S. - steal office supplies while you can. Work From Home peeps be paying mad cash for printer paper on Craigslist!
not sure what a wiretech is but premtechs are going the way of the dodo bird
New installs where self install is possible are required to be self install and AT&T TV is cutting into the job load a lot especially with IHX delivering them and setting them up later this year. I don’t think it looks good for techs.
Yes. Premtechs for sure.
