“The factors have all changed and yes, the consumer may consider putting off the purchase of many consumer devices — appliances, cars, phones, other things — in an effort to retain their resources,” CFO John Stephens said today at a digital investor conference.

This year was already shaping up to be a momentous one for AT&T prior to the global pandemic, and the operator is pushing forward on those plans despite the scourge of the coronavirus. The company plans to reach nationwide availability on its 5G network this summer and release its new streaming service HBO Max later this month.

There where articles in March about this, not just affecting T but all 5G providers. With more people home there isn’t a need for expensive 5G or even LTE data packages or new phones because everyone is using their WiFi. Oh look people using the thing everyone has been urging T to upgrade while it spent billions of junk. Randall didn’t event stick around for his 2020 b—s— 5G plans because that dream is dead now too.
