Future Predictions?

Stankey is going to have an uphill battle but here are my predictions.

HBO max numbers will be met by giving away the service. Then when the numbers need to reflect this success, they will cut more jobs to make it look like the company is doing well financially. He will not have the luxury that Randall had when it comes to buying other companies to hide their losses.

All this said, I see Stankey being around 2-3 years at the most. Don't forge about Stephens who orchestrated much of this financial mess. I would also see any last minute announcement of a Stephens "retirement" as a red flag, but I don't think he will be around much longer either. They can only shuffle the chairs for so many quarters.

It's going to work out great. AT&T is going to be a tremendous success, just tremendous. We are going to see success like we've never seen before.

Stankly is Randall's fall guy. Randall has left an absolute mess for his replacement to clean up.

Stanks will be around for 2 years, tops, and then Elliot will dispose of him and liquidate what's left of the company.

I believe in Stankey. He will make AT&T great again. High paying jobs, increasing dividends. It's just going to be amazing for everyone.

execs will stick around until they cannot line their pockets anymore and then they will pull their golden parachutes ... The problem is that the institutional investors don't generally demand the Board of Misdirectors be replaced until the company is close or in bankruptcy.

Governance is a difficult problem (and not just at T). Having to pay the cash dividend acts as one type of check on management, but not a perfect one.

It's somewhat perverse that we need greedy sharks (Elliot) to bust up corruption and cronyism so rampant here, but if it prevents the company from going to BK then maybe it's for the better. It appears they have the power to remove Stankface when they tire of him, which I suspect will be soon after "HBO max" flops.

They won't bring in any competent proven CEO from the outside. Until the bankruptcy court appoints a receiver.
