Get on the bandwagon, heavy dose of transformation on executive retirement pay. Apply six sigma, clean out the closet, get rid of services that are no longer profitable, shift investment else where (To hard working employees). This represents millions saved immediately, has to be easier than laying off thousands and mountains of paperwork. Better lawyer up, Randy’s good ol’ boy smile means he has got it all buttons up.

Oh come on, Randy and Bill are good looking, successful, and makes great money. The are great winners. No need to be jealous. We should feel good because we are all a part of their success.

Keep believing in our "god given free enterprise system" and these travesties will continue. It's a rigged system and it will continue as long as the people of this country continue to believe that we have a meritocracy or that markets always produce socially useful outcomes. It's a big scam and the ballot box is useless until more people get it. Neither mealy mouthed Democrats nor billionaire fraudsters will save us. We need more general strikes and direct action. Sadly the time is still early as not enough see it yet. Too many still believe the false dream. With Covid19 damage to the economy though things may change. Now so many have so little to lose if it comes down.

@1zet Stop being an engineer and learn to be a salesman. I did. Walked away from being a salaried employee to being a salesman and increased my income 5 times.

His monthly retirement fund is equal to 3 engineers' pay for an entire year.

I wonder if he will continue to be as philanthropic with his personal money to local charities as much as he was with company money.

I really can't read too well and cannot understand financial matters so I am going to accuse him of stealing from pension. If I don't understand, it's gotta be stealing, right?

Wow, this needs to be a special, like McMillions on HBO, about how you can scrw up a powerhouse of a company, royally, drive it into the ground, sacrifice tens of thousands of jobs, and still make $ for life.

maybe he can give some of that money he stole from the pension fund by not updating the information. hope that lawsuit sees this and points it out. he is thief in my book until he gives back the pension the employees earned in the last buyout.

Absolutely despicable. Why should this failure of a CEO get one cent after ruining this company?

If this company is so hard up for money that they are laying off thousands of employees every year, why on earth would they be throwing away this kind of cash on this failure of a CEO who soon won't even be working here?

With the money being blown on Randall's retirement party every year this company could save dozens of good middle class jobs. Or even hundreds of Prem Tech jobs!

This kinda of golden parachute behavior wont change until its forced to.. So keep that in mind as they start talking about rightsizing and all in it together..

Oh, what a relief! I was so worried about how Randy would manage. Thankfully Stinky will be able to pay for Randy's pittance through mass layoffs. I'm sure all AT&T employees can rest easy knowing us losing our jobs will be for the greater good.

Wow, $274K per month for life. My pension was worth $98k total when they laid me off after 19 years and now at my new job I don't have one. I improved my metrics every year too, ol' Randy's numbers went downhill from the beginning and yet they let him stay in place for 13 years as CEO.

it is simple, Who really matters? the employees or wealthy elites, I conclude, basically, that T's corporatipn is a corrupt oligarchy where ordinary people barely matter.
what to do? get used to it, or move to another country ... LoL

All officers (SVP and above) are compensated very differently than regular employees... much better health care, access to Corp jets etc and when they retire, the company purchases an annuity that matches their base salary for life... the Wall Street journal said his total retirement package is worth ~$90 M...

He should have been fired the moment he signed papers for the acquisition of T-Mobile. Anybody with a little bit of history knowledge and the brains of a flea should have known that under a Democratic administration there was no way this size of deal would get their blessing. Don’t tell me that the approval does not come from the president. He nominates the people to serve. 4 billion flushed down the toilet. Too bad he didn’t jump in with it

$274,000: That is about what I got from my Pension when AT&T kicked me out a year go and had 21.5yrs of service. I guess Randall was more important and gets a bigger payout. On the UP SIDE I'm glad they didn't give him what they gave Whitaker $157.5 million.

Good Luck to all the great AT&T Employees.
AT&T Leadership is always looking to Cut You.

Debating CEO compensation is pointless; those of you that insist in engaging in it might as well just bang your head off the wall repeatedly. You're not a CEO. You're not compensated as a CEO. Get over it, move on with your life.

All of that said...I am beyond happy that this is out there right now. It's going to be really bad optics and PR for the upcoming layoffs. And you can bet the Orange one will be all over it when it happens too, given his hatred for TW and CNN. Not that any of that will change anything, just glad that they probably won't be able to fly under the radar as is their preference.

I believe Ratty is the largest non-institutional, individual T shareholder. I believe he was getting about $1m every quarter in dividends also.

Ratty can compete against GE's Immelt for the Worse 21st Centry CEO award title.
