Usually, the ones surplused are notified two weeks before it’s announced on the Internet. That’s the way it works in my center anyway.
Central Office Techs will be unaffected.
And it doesn’t come by email. The union will post it on their website by 5 pm on the 15th and it will have a list of how many job titles in each exchange are being surplused.
If it is a craft surplus, they notify you on June 15th and you have to either be off payroll or have found another opening or person to bump by the end of September.

So how does the layoff go down? Like Monday at the end of your shift you have a meeting with your manager or you get an email? When you are notified is that your last day on the job?

June 15 is on a monday so that is when it would be announced.
Sorry what is D3?
Any word on wiretechs?
Who said the 13th?
In my dept, the “15th” is commonly used to describe mid month layoffs.
So the June 13th would still make sense.
