1Q Layoff Resumed / Off-Pause

Just got notice that those impacted by the 1Q layoffs – whose layoffs were "paused" – have a revised layoff date of mid-May.

You’re gonna get a job where you’re gonna get more money, frankly.

Two supervisors in my team had ldop of March 20- they also have not received a new date. Not saying fake news , but certainly not everyone is receiving this email.

Define "managers" at T an employee with 1 day in the company right after college can have that title given to them. Every IT non-contractor from level 1 up to Randal falls into this category. Or do you mean managers as in your supervisors.

Don’t worry if you know someone and are related to someone you get to stay at the cesspool. Wish I had nickel for every time I had to fix c-ap a so called leader or relative put out. But they had a master in computer science and they could reinvent the wheel or come up with some algorithm that worked like the computer modeling they used in the corona virus. Att deserves what they get and just remember you have to have customers to stay in business and you have to treat them with respect and compassion and that is something att knows nothing about.

Nothing says how great we are when we call someone inept and clueless, especially when they are higher up.

I can also confirm this is true. I'm not a lazy, clueless manager but still got the notice from such a manager. In fact, I can say for a fact that I can contribute more to this company than my director who decided to lay me off. Let us not generalize this situation, but instead, try to help people who are in a bad situation, shall we? Layoffs and COVID-19 combined, no matter how you look at it is a terrible combo. I wish everyone all the luck as we try & hope to get through these times.

If the company is dead, time to get off your a$$ and find another job. Less time complaining, more time looking.

How many inept clueless managers are out the door? Get some managers with technical skills to get the work done, not spreadsheet commandos. Maybe we wouldn’t lose customers if those in charge were not id–ts. Upper management is getting rid of all you incompetent lazy managers soon. Get out.
