Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Does Anyone Really F-n/g Care Anymore?

I don’t. I know many, probably 100’s of others in the same boat. Why would you care more than just your paycheck? Which, that is even iffy most days.....

Micromanaged is an understatement, Worse now than before pandemic. Everyday.
You should of billed the customer - I'm not billing for something that isnt the customers fault even if the Help Desk coded the job that way - equipment missing a power cord dont you read my notes.
Watch your hard breaking.
Stop idling in your van at lunch its not allowed, dam its 90 degrees outside.
Get your DE numbers up. Some of these jobs are beyond our control, failed copper, customer cancels.
Your taking too long, well F—k, I just had to replace the drop with 4 handholes and now this issue came up.
Every f—ng day.
Get out of the gate in 15 minutes on arrival. Dam, takes more than 15 to get water, look at jobs list, get cpe and call customer.
I'm more worried about the numbers than doing my job correctly for the customer. More time wasted trying to walk on egg shells.

Most of there policies are stupider then Jupiter! There a hindrance to get the job done......so finally I just cave after years of harassment and aggravation. I play the numbers game and look like a genius. 8 MORE MONTHS and I’m out of here.

An employee is just a number, just like a paycheck is only some numbers. The company views an employee as a number and the employee views their paycheck as a number. Fair enough isn't it?

There are no morals or values in most companies anymore. We're all just here for the ride and to enable the few at the top to benefit from our actions. Why should anyone care? It's a two-way street from bottom up and top down.

I did care. and I still really want to. Everything was so much enjoyable when it seemed like we mattered, and like the company had a future. I know there isn't a job is going to be a blast to go to every day... work is work... but up until a few years ago, this one was more than tolerable. Now it is just backstabbing, fake people, faker numbers, no stop layoffs, and never ending overwork.

it's not unique to T , most folks at corporate jobs don't really give a flying fck. Because the only folks that care are the executives (they care for a limited time) , or some corporate ladder climbing monkey's..

the folks here are voicing an honest and pragmatic approach to working in a modern corporation, this isnt the 1950s era of your GrandPa where company loyalty is to be likewise reciprocated. Rather It's an era of outsourcing and reductions regardless of your performance or commitments, so at the end of the day, I salute those that don't kneel down besides hypocrisy of capitalism, you come in do your job and that's it you owe nothing more.

As long as my wife is an AVP here I can sit here and collect a check for doing jack squat.

Wrong, @1wxq. The reason this company is in the shape it is in is due to completely incompetent leadership at the top surrounded by brainless yes men (and women). We are finally getting rid of the individual chiefly responsible for this company's failures, only to be given a replacement that's even worse.

I'm just here milkin' this cow till she's dry. I've been here long enough to know this place isn't a lifelong career. When this gig's up, I'll collect my severance and move on to greener pastures.

I try to do my job somewhat sort of reasonably well, but I can't say I have any reason to really care about this company or its future.

There are thousands like you which is why we are in the situation we are in. Far too many just collecting a check. See how that works for you when you get to a job that holds you accountable.

You never really cared. The only time you "cared" was during contract negotiation and you wanted a bigger raise.

Welcome to reality.
They don't care.
Reciprocate.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is in for a world of disappointment.
You are nothing more than an expense who will be gone ASAP.
Smile, wave say "Yes sir/ma'am" and fly low.
Cash the checks and try to run them out of $$$.

Ratty, Stinky and JD reaped what they sowed. They only cared about enriching themselves and the Board of Mis-Directors so when the rest of us followed their lead and don't give a flying F*CK except for the few coins they threw our way, and we were screwed and not enriched, why would anyone be shocked?

Nope. Don’t care. I get paid and go home to my family. I’m determined to milk this job until they lay me off. I refuse to k–l myself or stress myself just so the upset echelon can get more in their bonus.
