Bill Morrow commented that Verizon was 2 years ahead of AT&T on their cost reduction initiative on the John Stankey Video. Could it be because they offered 44,000 Managers 60 weeks pay to retire early in 2018 and 12-15K left? For the last 2 years the current VZ Management Team has spent their time running the business instead of constant concerns about being laid off the following quarter. That has become the AT&T normal corporate culture since 2015 in my opinion- waiting for the shoe to drop. Why not make a decent offer and keep the dedicated talented craft and management employees that want to stay with AT&T and perform their jobs? The morale would improve in a minute and folks could stop looking over their shoulders........................................

It was normal operations forever always had reductions. They use them as a management tool.
now that randy is out, the stank going to reduce headcount down to 100,000 in short order. plan 2020 is going to happen.
whats ironic is the stank was randys right hand man and screwed up the tmobile deal years ago. promoted time and time again for being horrible at his job. randy and john, anyone else that bad at their job would have been canned

T will NEVER make an offer like Verizon. Just get over it. I am surprised T does not eliminate the "up to 6 months" severance completely, since they have to seem to borrow the $ to pay the severance out.
Why bother making any offers to the employees when they can just rebadge the employees and not have to pay out a dime?
