AT&T stock has returned 53% including dividends since Stephenson was appointed CEO and chairman on May 9, 2007. That compares with 143% for the S&P 500, 182% for Verizon, and 118% for T-Mobile. Apple replaced AT&T as a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average in 2015, nearly a century after Ma Bell joined the index.

I think his legacy has become completely tarnished.....unless somehow his two acquisitions right themselves. We will see how history proves out.

I briefly worked in Executive Travel Organization way back when. Yes, T actually had such an organization. Back then, the retired execs still had access to the corporate jets. Not sure if that is still the case but it would not surprise me.
