We’ve all been thru this before. Just think back to 2012. Stankey has been running the show for a while now and was actually selected as RS successor some time ago. Headcount reduction in all the wrong places will continue to take place and we will send even more work to offshore contractors who could actually care less about the health/future of the company. I thought it was comical when Mcelfresh told Stankey during the transformation call with Morrow that we “can’t cost cut our way to success” as we are all completely aware that accelerated headcount reduction is priority #1 for the Executive team. Welcome to the next 5 years of your life at AT&T.

  1. Constant surplus threats every quarter
  2. Mind numbing micro-management at every level
  3. Microscopic cost control in one division and basically burning money in another
  4. Zero communication/collaboration between departments and silo’s as everyone scrambles to insulate themselves from layoffs

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

What is needed is a resolution at the next board meeting. If upper management does not get the debt ratio down, then they don't get any stock bonuses or ones reduced in value. You could make it a financial incentive for them to get it down.

If leadership listens to folks who know the business and the market this could be a smooth transition and lead to growth. We need to focus on investments that grow the top line. Instead we will focus on cutting investments and cutting the bottom line. We will outsource and sell off product lines and parts of the business where no investment has taken place (thus lower profits.) This will be a windfall for small businesses that buy the assets as it will open the door to customers they had no access to previously. This will continue us in the same spiral we are currently in. Most likely they will listen to the voices saying I can reduce expenses by x% with no disruption. The plan will be so high level that it could target any area for very deep cuts. As long as those VPs and AVPs cut expenses and hold the line they will see big bonuses next year. The problem is that we are so short sighted this will be the death nail in the long run. By the way, it's pretty childish to call people names like Stinky and Ratty. Show some intelligence and rise above. My suggestion would be to not make HBO MAX free but make a 2 year customer offer to switch to a internet, cell, and atttv bundle (throw in an apple tv) and charge a market attractive rate. Partner with someone like Disney in a bundle. You can bring in new customers winning some business and cutting overhead as customers move from traditional to cloud services. For business focus on bundles that are competitive and cutting edge. This would require some longer term vision and investment.

Let's see if Stankey can continue to keep AT&T running great. Randy has done a great job modernizing AT&T.

Stanky is worse than randy - this was all planned by the way. Randy raided what he wanted and is taking the money and exciting stage right.

I am sure there will be phony tears shed and stories about the pebble beach gang and what a leader randy was lol can’t say that with a straight face.

Stank's ego is bigger than Nadella's body. Too bad, ego isn't a marketable product.

Let's hope that Stankey is as good for AT&T as Nadella is for Microsoft. Since Nadella replaced Ballmer at Microsoft the stock price has increased 5x.

To support the dividend, keep the free cash flow up.

So I get the feeling he was not on a phone call with HR this morning to be read his 60 day surplus letter script.

will never forget the "leading with distinction" where Randall said something like "I like people who have failed, you learn a lot about their character by that." Well, he just passed off to the master of failure.

Take a look at our board of directors guys, it's full of CEOs of other companies, where many of the same ones, and even Stanley serve on their boards. Basically it's just full of people that take care of their own. That's their only objective.

Elliott is behind all this. They will use the stank to cut the company to extract any profit left, then dump the stank and the stock. Stank has made it clear he is not shy about letting people go.

I guess you can say this is making the worst of a bad situation. This was the perfect time for the lap dog Board to actually earn their pay and go out and get a real CEO with real world experience who can clean up the mess that Randy & Johnny left behind and attempt t turn the company around. As a matter of fact, this would be a good time to clean out all of the dead wood in the C-Suite. The problem with Johnny is that he thinks he is a top CEO of a large, diversified, market driven and high tech company. Actually, he came up the line from a regulated telco utility with a pretty much guaranteed profit from the regulators as long as there were no major screw ups. You didn't need to motivate or lead your team in that environment, just bully and shout the loudest to get ahead. I hope this works, but let's see how the stock performs with this announcement.

I don't know anyone at the company who thinks Stankey is anything but an arrogant CLAIMS to be "know it all". Can't believe Randall's claim that Stankey lives by anyone's "values" other than his own.

Both Randall and Skinkey should have fired. They have mismanaged this company and treated hard working AT&T employees poorly. Stinkey with the stupid DTV acquisition showed what kind of a vision he has to manage a large company. These guys need to be investigated for mismanagement and fraud - jail them all like Enron.
