Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Their Premiere Product

"The company today also reported a 138,000-subscriber net loss in AT&T TV Now, a streaming service that's separate from the premium TV category. AT&T TV Now is down to 788,000 subscribers, only a year after AT&T reported more than 1.5 million subscribers to the service. Formerly known as DirecTV Now, the streaming service hit a peak of 1.86 million subscribers on September 30, 2018, before customers started canceling as their discounts expired. AT&T attributed the latest customer loss to "higher prices and less promotional activity.""

Isn't this suppose to be THE product that every customer is suppose to come tearing down the doors to buy? WOW is all I got to say.

When I was an employee the employee discount for AT&T TV Now was great so it was worth having.
Now they kept doing bait and switch with external customers, changing channel lineups for packaging, changing pricing etc... It was almost like they wanted to see how much abuse a customer would take before they canceled.

Now the employee mobility discount stinks, 50% off for management employees sounds great, but it's too expensive to begin with and the added made up fees it's totally ridiculous. You can do better with other carriers. I am not paying 1/2 for my mobility service from what I was paying with 50% employee discount. For most coverage is a comity now, so go for the lowest cost.

It's a crime what the c-suite has done to AT&T and the BOD allowing it to happen.

I’m an AT&T Now subscriber and a current employee so I do get the top package (Ha! Their’s only 2) at a significant discount. Streaming quality is excellent for the most part and the channel guide and search functions have been considerably improved since launch. I used to get errors a lot at first, but rarely anymore. The cloud DVR is also much improved and easy to use although it can still feel clunky at times. I have also used Sling TV and YouTube TV and they are about the same functionality wise. I think YouTube TV’s interface is more responsive and intuitive. I was really hoping that AT&T (and all the other OTT providers for that matter) would be an innovator in this space and allow customers to just select exactly what they want programming wise and bill accordingly, but the package model’s are about the same as all the other providers. If I didn’t get my employee discount, their wouldn’t be much reason to stick with it and I would probably seek another provider. Doesn’t sound like AT&T TV Now is going to be around much longer anyway with HBO Max right around the corner. I wouldn’t be surprised to get an E-mail and/or letter within the next 6 months saying my service is being cancelled with a promotional offer to move to HBO Max or something else.

keep in mind most of the original subscribers bought on to get the free apple tv then bailed.

I wonder how many of those customers that are left are Employees. And I wonder how many employees cancelled their service even with their discount.
