We’re not going to no commission. At least not in 2020. Everyone’s PG is based on hitting commission. That’s not gonna change this year. I can see them possibly going to a no commission structure but it definitely won’t happen this year.

I highly doubt this, the online order system is dog sh–. Customer's orders constantly fall out and indirect stores constantly has issue with ISPU orders. On top of that Care transfers so many issues to Internet orders that we hardly actually work with internet orders, CORe's name should just be changed to "I don't want to do my job, hot line" (at least for care, store reps are generally cool)

IMO I don’t believe Verizon will completely cut out commission. I do think some major overhaul is coming because assigning any type of quota in the next 6 months will be a challenge without having pushback. If they do decide to nix commission the fairest way to change pay structure is to average out last years individual commission pay and add that into hourly pay.

Self service is all we have in this "touchless" retail. Before the China virus yes self service was always there but convincing people to do it was a challenge. Now the company has a way to blame something else to force people into. look at self-checkout Lanes in a grocery store when they first started people use them but there was a lot of normal cashiers working. As the years passed people realized it's quicker to do the self-checkout and grocery stores cut the number of real checkout Lanes. Staffing levels services inability for retail stores will never go back to the previous China virus levels. Sad it's a fact. Express stores will be the normal.

Self serve “options” people are too lazy to “self serve”

The job is and has been changing. Commission was going to be eliminated sometime in 2020. RIS, internet sales and a larger available workforce willing to eagerly do the job has brought us to this point. $100K retail rep is done. This "fat" trimming will allow retail to stay viable. Still a great company with outstanding benefits. Verizon has stood by the employees as a whole but everyone is expendable. So, enjoy your job and the additional work/life balance that you will be seeing with a reduced "slamming" sales model. Keep your customers happy and enjoy life. This may be the balance that you were looking for.
