Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Top performers getting extra

Heard that top performers are getting special treatment on their commission checks. Any one else heard this? Now I'm all for this being fair but my commission averages between 2-3k and so im taking a pay cut, which im fine with unless these top performing reps making 3-4k are getting compensated greater. A few in my store are getting pay bumps because they never hit their quota. The balance game is way off.

Maybe it's time to get out of front lines sales and get a real job instead of preying on the uninformed... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I spoke to H.R and the D.M. Both denied any knowledge of adjustment on commission for high performers. I will continue to work 3 days a week until things go back to normal.

I hope we continue in May to receive our at risk/ commissions. Otherwise, they would need to give the WFH customer service staff a bump in their hourly wages.
Call center staff prior to Covid19 made more per hour than a solution specialist because reps get paid commissions so they can not just remove our commissions and expect us to take calls at the same rate! It doesn't work like that unless you are uneducated or naive.

@2ejw+14ADKHp0 There are reps sitting at home absolutely doing nothing getting the full hourly pay and at risk commission. Most of these reps saw an instant pay raise when the China virus hit because they don’t even make quota let alone anywhere near $1350. Anyway the bad news is that in the month of May anyone sitting at home doing nothing and WFH customer service jobs will have at risk eliminated. This many only happen for May/June but no doubt at risk will be gone for most people in May.

No, this has not happened... $4500 check isn’t coming anymore and it hurts. Can’t file for unemployment cause I’m still getting my hourly so losing 3k a month is hard. Stimulus is only for the lower class so all the middle and upper middle class are not going to make it. If you pay 600 extra to someone that was only making $300 a week that’s not fair. What about the people making 10k a month? Yeah I get it, it sounds selfish but I work hard for my money.

I was contacted and was told I would be getting a supplement that matches my avg commission from last year. So for me about $2,300 per month more.

Do you know how bad that would look.... How badly they would get sued if true.

The OP must be trying to start a rumor in hopes that it comes true for him/herself. The info is totally bogus however I do believe that those who are currently working in the stores should get a 30% increase of at risk pay just like they are the hourly.

No, noone else has heard this because it is ridiculous. Whomever told you that misinformation was either messing with you or intentionally lying in order to upset you.

There is no such thing as a balance game, Verizon is being fair across the board and giving everyone their at risk commission. It does not matter if you were previously a high performer or a low performer everyone has been compensated the same.

Please stop trying to spread ridiculous rumors, For all of Verizon's faults they are doing much more for their employees than most companies in these unrepresented times. Be thankful you are still employed, receiving not only your regular pay but any commission payout at all, and continue to keep your benefits.
