Why not stop the location strategy as the world fights through this pandemic? Locations under 10...meaning geographically dispersed workers without immediate work requirements for socialization because we already telecommute – what part of laying us off makes sense at this point? Would forcing us to an office to spread germs and cause buildings to be shut down and sanitized be a better approach? I think not...let's use some common sense and modern technology to keep the good people!!

I think maybe the high Federal officials took a vaccine; they no longer seem worried about public contact and have been tested as negative to having the virus even after shaking a lot of peoples hands. I guess we are close we just have to wait for supply to hit the rest of us.
If you are smart and clever enough to land top executive job like Saul, it seems reasonable to assume that Saul would have the self-awareness to pivot to a different strategy.

The Saul Van Beuren "Location Strategy" (aka "Saul's Folly") has always been a pretext for getting employees to voluntary quit. But it has been made obsolete by the pandemic.
The rationale that Agile requires same physical location/face-to-face interaction is obsolete for most teams today in 2020 It may still make sense for coders and project leads on certain projects, but it's not a cure-all you can declare for every team and for some 24,000 technology employees. Some teams work better as virtual teams.
Hey Saul, be "agile" and reconsider your obsolete "Location Strategy". It may have made sense for small startups 10 years ago, but not today.
Many are confusing the ability to work from home with location. They will not stop location strategy because of this pandemic, though it is fortunate for those who were asked to relocate recently.
They will simply have people based out of the hub locations with the ability to WFH.
Personally I feel there is a slight advantage to being in an office with the folks you work with on a daily basis, but not so much that it warrants everyone being in the office 8 hours every single day. That's just nonsense. Three out of Five days in an office would probably be a good balance. Only if your team is also there.
Obviously Location Strategy is designed to eliminate employees though.
The last Ask Saul call some 40 year employee called Saul out on his nonsense where he was saying that working from an office results in less issues with MRA's... Yeah right...

When this whole pandemic thing has passed just go to work you whiney babies. What makes you so f—ing special that you should get to work at home while everyone else has to go in? If you don’t like it then find another gig.
Location strategy was used as a pretext to lay people off but now during the pandemic it makes no sense to sit in an office.
