Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Really?

As our company responds to COVID-19, the health and safety of our employees and customers remains our top priority.

Really??? From where I'm standing, this company is bending over backward to make sure its bottom line is not hurt - screw the employees and screw the customers.

Does anybody actually buy this b—s—?

You are overreacting to something minor. You can't have the cure worst than the problem. Just s— it up.

They are freaking out because they now know HBOMax will be a failure. I’m glad it will be for the C suite and Elliott but not for the employees.

GBRT in JAX is taking their time in allowing reps to work from home. Minneapolis RAM has been doing it for a week. They have not taken any precautions in regards to sanitizing the office. It is left to the reps. Cleaning is left to the reps and they get spoken to for using Lysol and Clorox as the smell is offensive to some. All they did was spend a day moving the reps 6 ft apart for the ones that do not qualify for the paid leave of absence. They are saying they are essential to the business...NOTHING the reps do in the GBRT would be considered essential to the business as they support post billing disputes. Their actions do not install or disconnect services nor do they speak to the customers directly or collect payments.

Action speaks louder than words. I shop at the small local grocery chain, they provide gloves, masks to cashiers and cleaning wipes and sanitizers for customers. Love these internal glowing reviews for McFresh and company, "thank you for caring, thank you for leadership, etc.". Where are the actions? The front line are saying they are not equipped to protect themselves, let's send in McFresh and company to these installs and customer homes and see how far they will get. Build a reality series around this and it will be a massive hit with employees and customers alike.

Keeping some stores open to support customers, I drove by several stores which were opened, where is the foot traffic? No customers inside and no lines outside. Sure, don't take my word for it, check out your areas. Meanwhile, T-mo, Sprint and V stores are closed, their customer can't wait to jump to T as they are not being supported, right?

"i DO believe this company IS taking care of their employees and YES they are also working to keep the bottom line, if they do not you will not have a job much longer. I don't agree with many things they do but right now they ARE taking care of the employees but they do have to keep doing business or we will ALL be in trouble once this all moves forward

The company is very concerned about THEIR bottom line. Just think none of us were that important, you could be surplussed, forced to move, layed off at a moments notice when it's in their interest to do so. Now all of us are ESSENTIAL to the needs of the business. This need to be explained to the union and remembered when talks begin again.
