DO THE MATH

Average annual dues to CWA $800 times 270,000. Wow that’s a lot of mullah! What do you get?

And yet another reason to be union represented. Only bargained-for frontline employees are getting the 20 percent temp increase. Non union non management frontline (NMNU ) employees are not.

It’s not right and it’s not fair but this is yet another example of the disparity of how att treats its employees who are not union represented.

Back to dipshi. Att is not the only company with CWA members. THE CWA BRAGS THEY HAVE 700,000 members. It’s not just about you and your little spot on Earth.

It’s true. Many don’t realize that att has some non management non union field technicians and that they earn substantially less than their CWA counterparts for doing the same job and also for less benefits such as vacation days. They have no contract. They have no representation. Att takes full advantage of that. They are specific titles that can’t be added to the union. So for those of you who do nothing but complain about CWA, you’re welcome to re-hire under one of those titles. I’m sure many of you will jump at the chance to earn less pay and benefits just so you can be rid of the union lol. Do it.

Well the CWA's haul is going to be a whole lot less when all the well compensated old timers are retired and it's only prems and wire techs paying dues out of their tiny salaries. Maybe the CWA should have thought of that when during every contract they chose to never once fight for their dues paying prem/wire techs.

Funny reading one poster saying non-unionized Spectrum techs make $30/hour. Premtechs don't make anything near that AND WE ARE PAYING DUES TO THE CWA!

Yes do the actual math. Compare a union represented employees compensation with a NMNU employee. The difference in pay is staggering. The OP doesn’t know what he’s talking about or is just a troll.

Must be managers writing these posts because I KNOW I get a lot for my dues and am very grateful I have a union. I’m in Florida , a right to work state. All I have to do is look at one of my co workers who is a non management non union (NMNU) At&t employee. He does the same exact job as me and is in my crew. He actually has more years than me. However , he makes approx 8 dollars less an hour than I do. He also doesn’t get the almost 600 dollars a week standby pay that we in the union get. He gets somewhere around 90 dollars for the same standby tour. He doesn’t get double time, we do. His insurance deductibles and premiums are slightly higher. He has no seniority benefits. He gets forced OT regardless of OT list or seniority. We have so many more rights than him. We have a grievance procedure. Overall I can attest his total yearly compensation is about 1/3 less than union represented when OT is taken into account. I can go on and on with other examples but you get the idea. Think about that. He does the same exact job but At&t gives him less pay and benefits because he’s non union. He’d love to join. CWA would love to have him but rules prevent him from being able to join the union. He and other NMNU At&t employees are a living example of what life would be like at att without a union. Anyone who thinks they would be better off without CWA are lying and fooling themselves. At&t will not fairly value your worth. Just ask NMNU At&t employees. The union isn’t perfect. What is ? However , I am overwhelmingly better off union represented. I will always gladly pay my dues as I get much much more in return.

If your a tech. You benefit from $40 an hour while other non union companies don’t get that much. Spectrum techs with no union with many years barely get the $30 an hour mark while new spectrum techs work at $13 and hour. I believe Verizon is $5 under our pay for like positions.

Slight correction 700,000 members nationwide. NOW DO THE MATH! I do get something: the privilege to attend a meeting and be told how to behave and what to think. Just like all the other sheep.
