no reason to have HBO at all. ZERO. randy bought the top. GOT writers mailed it in the last season with a horrid story line, leaving water bottles in production cuts, can't make this stuff up

Stank said he is getting paid to watch TV, sure he can be the all star caliber TV watcher.
Does he have the talent to cultivate creatives, select winner projects (how many shows came and failed before you get another GOT or Friends), produce with quality and round up with marketing to beat the critics and other studios? Hate to be cynical, his record isn’t great, just ask T employees. What’s worst is that he claimed to be an know it all and asserted confidence isn’t backup by anything with street cred’. Stank isn’t Jobs and WB isn’t Pixar and there is no Lasseter to carry the load. The rest of executives jumped ship or looking for a better situation. There is a reason why Iger didn’t appoint an outsider to run Disney, you don’t get to be successful in entertainment by having a giant ego alone. Utility is a monopoly, more choices in wireless, and infinitely more choices in entertainment to compete for the disposable dollar. Don’t hold your breathe for any Stank fan club starting up soon, except his cult of a—kissing brown nosers.

Not only that, but from Stankey's town hall comments much of that new content is going to be woke content with a narrow appeal
We get that you hate AT&T, but to say HBO is complete garbage now is a bit of a stretch. There is still a lot of good programming on HBO. Westworld, The Outsider (just finished this, it was great), Curb Your Enthusiasm, Watchmen, Silicon Valley, etc. etc., many more.
HBO would continue to succeed if left on its own (in Time Warner) and not acquired. The problem now is that AT&T is going to force it to crank out lots of content which will invariably be less quality.
The final season of GOT isn't really "HBO's fault" in my opinion. They gave a lot of creative freedom to D&D but thier budget kept growing at an untenable rate, and HBO was forced to push back.
