Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Can field technicians refuse to enter a home of somebody who is coughing up a storm?

Will they be fired if they do?

Your #1 responsibility is your health and safety AND those around you. This is and has always been THE #1 responsibility! Some strangers internet is not that important.

Don’t allow the Coronavirus spikes to infiltrate your lungs.! The manager is required to work inside the prem if required.

Obviously you’re management and you missed the larger point so let’s try again.
CUSTOMERS ARE LYING TO US ABOUT BEING SICK.
you get it now or should I use crayons and paper.

No, manager does not care about your excuse making, lazy, under-performing arse. You know who I am talking about.

You think customers will be truthful? Please!
They want there internet, they don’t care about you. It’s already happened numerous times here. There are ways around going inside like iw through a window or single pair only until this is over. the company or managers in particular are too scared to make any decisions on there own. There are no masks, limited sanitizer, management working from home don’t care about you.

“Typical prem tech question, now you know why they want to get rid of them! No dummy, the company is not going to force you inside if someone is sick. Follow the process, ask the questions, then call your manager to advise him/her and return the ticket with detailed notes.” Pretty much 100% brother!!!!!! Thank you for this intelligent response to an id–tic post (and some even more ridiculous responses).

Why worry? It's very minor and going away soon.

No we aren’t forced to go inside. On the pre call we ask if anyone in the house is sick. If they been in contact with someone who is currently quarantine or sick. If they been out of the country in one of the high risk countries for corona virus. If they say yes to any of the questions then we are returning the job.

Do not go in any cust home for your safety. Return cov-19 emergency disaster codes per AT&T. You cannot be forced to go on a customers house with this virus going on!

Who is dumb enough to think they gotta go ask permission for not entering when that is happening? Do you still enter and do your thing when you come across a murder in the act? If little Timmy jumped off a cliff....?

I'm not a field technician - I'm just curious how bad it is for them right now.
