Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T, the debt machine is in real trouble now

once upon a time having huge debt was like no big deal. nice job randy, once again -it could have not been a worse decision.

  1. tmobile merger fail
  2. dtv fail
  3. tw fail
  4. 180 BILLION in debt fail
  5. Wireless now dead last, with fierce competition fail

Increase the dividend, don't worry about the debt.

Low interest rates allow at&t to monetise its debt, AND then go and deduct the interest too.

If that's not a money tree, I don't know what is

If the Fed offers negative interest rates, why couldn't T take advantage of it to refinance our current debt? Basically T would be making money by having debt....and because it had more debt than anyone besides the federal government, it would be like minting money!

The cellphone and internet businesses are among the very few segments of the economy I don't see a hit in revenues coming, especially in a work from home, learn from home environment. Unless their revenues get hit, it should be business as usual.

T has the biggest debt on earth and the economy is tanking as they spent the tax break on buybacks. Right now the airlines are on the verge of going under and are begging to be rescued again except lawmakers don't want to now because the last time they did they also spent billions of rescue money on buybacks of their stock and enriched their share holders and CEO's. Sound familiar? Why doesn't Stink and Rat Randall do the right thing and give up their salaries and freeze bonuses? Money that should be invested in the companies infrastructure and workforce that's going to be needed for the new work from home world that's is looking to come from all this. Look how c-ap even the cell service right now with the strain of everyone needing to be on LTE, the network can't even handle a crisis imagine and even worse one? Its time to go back to our roots and invest in hour workforce and in what works and matters and is need.
