What areas in the company will downsize in technology? Any planned or recent layoffs?
There most certainly will be layoffs in the long term, as people hold off on buying cars and homes and default on loans, but hopefully people won’t be displaced quickly.
Banking is a “critical function” that has to stay open by law. Any layoffs would be normal course of business - meaning unrelated to COVID-19
WF would be galactically stupid to layoff anyone during this. Talk about bad press and further OCC reaming...

Has anyone considered that that companies can say that their employee count went from 250k to 240k so they only displaced 10k. In actuality they target the employees with the most seniority and inside info and they displace 100k but hire 90k nieve rookies for temporary positions thus being able to report overall displacements being only 10k?
I don't think layoffs will be much more severe than they would have been anyway. Banks are not airlines. People cannot decide not to use them. They are being allowed to keep operating during the shelter-in-place in San Francisco.
