Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

IHX still doing sales in homes with Covid19?!?!

I am a tech and as much as I hate going in homes at least I get that with kids out of school doing classes online, making sure internet is not out is important.

But does is there any reason on earth for an IHX salesman to go into homes right now? One of these guys is going to get some old person sick and cause deaths.

Shame on you IHX for being so irresponsible!

Don’t shake IHX hands if they try to be your buddy, they are filthy dirty and have Coronavirus. Leave the prem if they enter and notify union.

“Go and win” is what IHX leadership says. That alone lets you know what they think of you right now.

really contemplating on quitting... this job isn’t worth me spreading it to my family. my father has health issues so he’s at a higher risk of it being lethal.

I’m in IHX and we’re discouraged to talk among our peers about what’s going on. Messages in teams containing news from other areas have even been deleted. The store managers are asking us not to come in for inventory as often so that we don’t spread it to them. Even when we may have been exposed, It’s BAU.

I am in IHX and my area manager and director are letting people not dispatch if requesting but shame on the national leadership for even allowing this to happen. Up until now I thought the IHX national leadership was pretty good compared to the rest of AT&T but they showed their true colors with this!!!!

Yes this is ridiculous, I had to dispatch today and they want us to be safe by sanitizing and washing our hands. We have to set up the app so guess what mr customer, I need your filthy phone. I also am going to hangout with your family and kids who may have come into contact with someone who could be contagious. What if the customer gets me sick, BAU!

IHX has no choice. Just as you have to put out a shield of cones to protect your vehicle from the boogie man due to someone who has never done your job saying so, they also have someone saying they have to do this job regardless. No one customer-facing should be out right now. They should be able to troubleshoot an RG remotely and drop ship a replacement or issue a ticket to repair without customer interaction.

I'm not a religious person, but I do believe in God, and I hope to God this poster is in no way employed by AT&T. That said, I'm sure that they are. We have some real winners in our ranks.

Techs are able to resolve various issues without entering customers homes.

IHX are now going to customers homes without a tech on site if they are not AT&T mobility customers.

As a tech who works alongside IHX, most of them are honest, but they are following orders like the rest of us. Plus, they count on this job to pay their bills.

The difference, @vna, is that the customer asked for the technician to come to their home, whether to repair their existing service or install new service or an upgrade. Nobody asked for a cell phone salesman to show up out of the blue and enter their home.

Explain what’s the difference between a tech getting an old person sick and a IHX. Your both in front of the same customers and can pass it along. And from what I read the techs haven’t been giving hand sanitizer or wipes.

AT&T is a greedy money hungry corporation with no care for the healthy and safety of its employees or customers. All they care about is gaining more sales at all costs.

If the media finds out IHX is risking customers lives like this it will be a PR disaster for AT&T.
