Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Justice

Typical gutless, disconnected non-caring, mechanical, uninformed Wells Fargo management strategy. The Manila team had some very sharp IT resources and will be missed. The impact of their displacement will be great.

I’ve worked at WFB many years and have never seen morale lower. Now they are going to k–l what is left by disrupting people's lives and forcing them to go into a location. They will get less productivity than ever before. I hope Saul Van Beurden is fired soon from the backlash that is inevitable.

We were called into a meeting for the “announcement” on 2/12 where a very mechanical and scripted statement (by a manager who has proved their worthlessness many times over the years yet still remains) was read then we were repeatedly told not to discuss the situation with other teammates and there would be no time for questions. Really??

  • They preach "Code of ethics" diversity and doing what’s right by mandatory training yet bestow disruption and angst to their employees on a daily basis.
  • The only chance of this getting reversed is if people voice their opinion and do not remain silent!! Write letters to the board of directors, send emails, use social media, call the news stations. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!

One of the best posts I have read on here. I promise similar things are going on in every line of business. If this company were ethical like it says it would call these layoffs. Quit looking under rocks to find a reason to fire someone when the execs are responsible for this mess.

While it’s true that this was approved by the BoD in 2018, it’s not clear that it was their idea. It’s also true that 2 board members recently resigned, and 3 or 4 joined in 2019 or later, including the new CEO who voiced support for remote work himself in a town hall meeting. I don’t think it’s a lost cause, and certainly current events shine a light on what can happen.

I am relatively impressed with the support they (Scharf and Powell) have put forth during this outbreak, given the total garbage situation they walked into. People still need debit cards and payments during a pandemic, so they have to keep the lights on while trying to balance employee health.

This is a board initiative, and the requirements will not be limited to WFT.
I highly doubt this will get reversed. It s—s to have go into an office. If you want to keep your job, you won’t have a choice.
