Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

DTV discount

Last day on payroll was February 7. Does anyone know how long before my $10 DIRECTV bill goes to 100+ a month. I can’t seem to find the answer and I heard now they do not prorate bills. Any help would be great and good luck to anyone who’s been recently Surplused

Sign up as a new customer and it’s only $60 a month for first year and then only $80 for second year with a 2 year contract! Great deal for year 2020 ! And lock in the savings LOL !

Just like the person above, continued to have discount for 2 months after off payroll.
then they billed me for both months at full price.

For me it was 30 days after I was gone at end of March 2019. I had myself setup to leave dtv at end of April

It already has bud. The day you leave AT&T yanks your employee discount.

Do yourself a big favor and cancel your DTV service, return their set top boxes, and get rid of that stupid big ugly dish.

Then buy yourself a pair of rabbit ears for your TV and enjoy TV for FREE. Your HD will be much better and you won't be supporting an evil greedy corporation.

After my group was laid off, i got 2 more bills at the discounted price, and paid to the end of those billing cycles. Then, I got a bill with an increase to the non discounted price going back to a billing cycle I had already paid for. You are better off canceling the day you are laid off so you won't get hit with sticker shock!

When my time comes, I will cancel the service before the bill kicks up. I get about 40 channels in my city with my cheap antenna. These channels are blacked out with DTV, so I watch the antenna shows a lot already anyway. With a better antenna, I bet I could get 10 more channels. There are a few shows that I record and enjoy watching, but not enough to pay retail. I feel a little guilty over the amount of time I already spend behind the television.

Just go with antennae tv and get a better internet provider and use streaming services. You can get much better deals than anything att offers. Traditional cable with a dvr is much better than what att offers.

It could take them a couple bill cycles. As previous post , just cancel, send back all the equipment and find another way. Streaming is much cheaper, and what the companies want you to do anyway. DirectvNow if you can , the new AT&T TV plans are all priced same as Directv.

With billing... it’ll happen quick... next billing cycle probably... guaranteed 30 days after last day on payroll... expect to have a few billing cycles messed up before it’s corrected... ... errors always in AT&T’s favor...

Immediately. You’ve already racked up almost two weeks of the new charges. Do yourself a favor and cancel. Get Hulu live or YouTube tv. Or sling. Much cheaper.
