Why do you keep worrying about being laid off from Wells? Literally every place out there is better than that hellhole. If you are offered a severance, grab it like a lifeline that it is and head out to greener pastures. I'm yet to meet a person who left Wells and wasn't much, much happier than before.

I like my job and have built up to 6 weeks of PTO that I dont want to have to start over somewhere else. They fixed our insurance issues this year and I'm grateful we were heard. I want to stay!
Of course there are new layoffs coming. We were told in a staff meeting this week to wait for Charlie's reorg plan in 2 weeks. He's already outlined the core group in teamworks, and then all the realignment EIT will need to make (yet again) and other department fallout.
2 weeks is just after bonus payouts. This is so tight-lipped, all we will hear the next 2 weeks from our managers is our reviews and if we get any bonus this year.
It is so tight lipped, that those given re-location notices have not readily shared much. We really don't know much about who is moving from where to where, how far were they from one of the primary or maintenance locations. I'd like to hear more about that from some brave souls.
"Some are waiting for severance packages, some are interviewing elsewhere, and some are hoping to make it to retirement."
Some are wondering if there is any new on layoffs that management would not dare to share.
It's a LAYOFF site! People come here to discuss LAYOFFS! Geez.
Some are waiting for severance packages, some are interviewing elsewhere, and some are hoping to make it to retirement. Most come here looking for the latest info, and to share what they know.
If you want to discuss the stock price, go to an investment site.
Oh, and Trolls Blow.
This place has its issues but at other banks PIP’ing/managing people out is an olympic sport.
13z615Tt-Demoweenie....99% of what is called “racism” today is nothing of the sort and your comment manages to take it to an even greater low. If everything is racism then nothing is racism, which actually reflects the general post-racial U.S. society. The only racism thaI see is your party’s intersectionalist racial grading strategy for voter blocks.
“I don't get you people” is clearly referring to people who are fearing layoffs but not acting to get themselves out of danger.
@wrh+13z615Tt - I don't think that's what that poster meant. Just because JPM is laying off people and other big banks for doing that does not mean it is OK or ethical.
Fear is a very powerful tool.
So what the poster below is saying is that they are dependent on Wells Fargo.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but that’s a dangerous position and one of which management will always take advantage. They are. I am sympathetic.
I feel so much better now. The WF mess and reductions are unrelated. It must be OK if JPM is doing it,
@lqj+13z615Tt - @ JPM - almost every post has the word layoff in it.
every biog bank is laying people off and exporting jobs to offshore locations. Well get to take care of the shareholders 1st.
If you think things are so much better at other banks, go take a look at the on going layoffs talked about in the JPMORGAN thread.
Exactly! Finally someone said it perfectly!
I happen to really like what I do at Wells and want to keep my job. Not every area is a hell hole. Difficult, demanding yes, but it's challenging.
You're not entirely wrong, but you're also a little clueless.
A lot of us were hired as telecommuters, we are not located in cities with a lot of other options.
We have families and medical bills and need the benefits. This is why companies have benefits, to retain workers.
There are family issues to consider, moving during a school year, or dealing with mom in the old folks home.
In IT, the best jobs are in the tech hubs, and if you're a Wells IT person in a remote location, you probably can't afford a house/rent in the Bay Area right now.
You're probably young, you should try to consider other people's situations before you judge.
That said, I agree, if you can get out, get out.
