I did nothing while I was an area manager and no one cared. I just watch 80’s movies on my company laptop all day. Love it!

Nothing destroys morale faster than MSOC. Layer upon layer of metrics that are unobtainable without fudging and/ or taking shortcuts. Quality is out the window. I am in England now and British Telecom has a garage near my daughters home at the central office. They stare in disbelief at this Yank when I describe how At&t treats their techs. They are big into human rights and treating others with dignity. They would not put up with this nonsense.

I was often the top rated tech in the state. But one needs to tank their numbers every 3 months or they expect more.

So do 4-5, then have a leisurely month and do 3.
There are lots of good employees here.
And to be fair, lots of bad ones as well.
But a lot of smart folks. The stupid don't last long.
