Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I was given a notice in Charlotte

My job is getting moved to Minnesota. None of this makes sense. Phase 3 will be you team being located in only a handful of places. Even if you are in one of the 25 locations, you aren’t safe in phase 2 unless you in one of the handful you org picked.

If you can get your manager to push back for you, I know for a fact you can get your location changed. I have a friend who was mandated to go to one hub several states away and his manager pushed for him to go to a location 3 hours from his home. It was approved.

The average cost of a home at 200k in Charlotte is awesome in comparison to most any median U.S. city. Is this a complaint?

Charlotte does not have the real estate. A few of my team members and I was instructed to move to Charlotte for the relocation strategy. When the information was sent to us, they gave instructions on how to reserve a space because we would not have a permanent space. A number of our teammates who currently reside in Charlotte do not have permanent cubes. CIC, Duke, and the remaining uptown buildings are at capacity. Fort mill and Ballantine are full too. The cost of living in Charlotte has skyrocketed and Wells Fargo simply does not pay their employees enough money to survive. Rent at minimum is 1500 a month. The average cost of a home is 200k in Charlotte.

Upper management is moving around the chess pieces, but they're doing it on a Monopoly board.

Our team has a decent sized presence in Arizona. A person pegged for relo offered to move there. The relo strategy people said NO the person had to move to SF! Go figure. One of the most expensive cities to have to move to. Not to mention crowds, traffic, no space. Wth.

More proof that the problems with bad and stupid management at this company are possibly insurmountable. This sounds schizophrenic and psychotic.

Is anyone being guaranteed that they will not lose their job within xx months/years if they move?

We all wish we knew what phase 2 is. We're all assuming it's big.

Good luck in Minnesota and just in tie for the cold.

At least they have a good technology base there.
