Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Everybody should leave this toxic place

I have wasted four years of my life at Wells Fargo, mistreated every day by management with no skills, overworked due to unrealistic goals, and exhausted by the toxic work environment.

This affected every aspect of my life and health, physical and mental.

I quit six months ago and I haven't regretted it for a second. My new job pays better, the people I work with actually like their jobs and it translates into a great working environment, and I actually have a decent manager for a change.

I just wanted to let those who are feeling crushed by the horrendous work environment at Wells that there is a better option out there. It might take you a few months to find it, as it did me, but it was well worth it in the end.

Behold, the new and improved Wells Fargo. Spending money on infrastructure and talent to keep customers happy with fewer outages and happy employees? No need for that, the new WF is WOKE! Spending money to satisfy a small but very vocal group of 'specially privileged' people is the new way forward. Get with the program folks. (yeah, that's sarcasm kids. mostly.)

Seriously though, I'm glad I bailed out of that dumpster fire years ago, and pulled my money out of WF after that disastrous series of recent outages that left people unable to access their funds. I survived one of the earlier mergers between WF and another bank as an employee and remember someone putting up a picture of a broken down stagecoach with the caption "WELL this is as FAR as you GO!" Seems rather appropriate now.

@fhb+13uMXsce - great post!

  1. Find representation for yourself and let him/her look over the documentations that were sent to you and know all of your rights as an employee in this situation!

Hire an attorney - the goal is not the sue Wells Fargo. Instead, the goal is to get yourself into the best situation you can based on applicable laws!

  1. Don't panic.
  2. Don't move.
  3. Take you time to find work. Feb to Oct is a long time.
  4. Don't quit - let them laid you off and take the severance.
  5. Find new job that starts at the right time (starts in Nov) and enjoy!

This whole thing is a ruse. In the name of Agile and Co-location ... they are trying to reduce headcount. Make them pay!
